"Merlynn!" Merlynn yelps almost falls off the bed. She quickly calms down seeing Gwaine laying next to her with nothing, but worry and concern in his eyes. "Are you alright?"

Merlynn slowly nods.

"Now I am..." She admits before snuggling back into Gwaine's bare chest. Gwaine hesitantly lays back down, he knows what Merlyn was dreaming about and it made it worst that today was when she had to flee Drakic. Gwaine wraps his arms around Merlynn tightly, it was still rather dark out so neither lover had to move from the warmth and comfort of the other.

When Merlynn had to flee her home, she was only nine years old. Her father's brother, Rhys, was responsible for that. He had always been a greedy man, wanting the kingdom for himself and all. After years of being pushed away from the spotlight because of his older brother being the Loved King Balinor of Drakic, Rhys planned how he'd take the throne. His planning became more violent after Balinor married Hunith. Hunith, supposedly, was meant to marry Rhys, but fell in love with Balinor.

When Rhys took the throne, King Balinor fought till he pushed to flee while his most trusted knight, Sir Caleb, took Queen Hunith and young Princess Merlynn to safety in a small village called Ealdor. After Sir Caleb knew his Queen and Princess were in safe, he ventured back to his King, helping him fight. While the hidden Queen and Princess had to disguise themselves, so Hunith visited a sorceress who was kind enough to give Merlynn a charmed necklace that would make her appear as a boy. That's when Merlynn became Merlin.

As Merlin thinks of how his Kingdom was taken over, his thoughts trail to how Gwaine and him became lovers. Over the years they were best friends, it made them a lot closer with Gwaine knowing Merlin was really Princess Merlynn of Drakic and Lady Emrys, but that was just the start of their relationship. The courting started when Gwaine became a Knight of Camelot. The two had more time to be together and one thing lead to another. It was a surprise to the two that it happened, but their secret relationship has been going strong for almost 5 years now.

Merlynn loses her train of thought when the rising sun shines through Gwaine's window and onto his face, which rests on the knight's chest. She groans at the thought of having to get up, the man under Merlyn laughs. His chuckles soon turn into hard huffs.
