Since When Is Percabeth a Thing

It was Wednesday. Two more days for me to make my final decision. I didn't really have to think at all to make this decision. I knew what my heart wanted since it basically yelled it out every time I was with Percy.

"JUST SAY YES ALREADY" my heart screamed. "Not just yet, it's only two more days" I would respond.

I honestly didn't know why I should wait until Friday. I mean I'm ready and completely sure of what I wanted. And quite frankly I know for a fact that me and Percy were meant to be together. And I know he feels the same way.

So far nothing eventful happened other than the usual rejection and clingy contenders. Part of me wanted to go up to Percy before it was too late and just kiss him. Part of me wanted to see how fate would play out if I waited.

I knew something was bound to happen because that's how our lives work. We could never have some peace to just relax and wait. It made life more dramatic and slightly exciting as if me and Percy were some book characters. This time however, I couldn't tell if that something would be bad or good.

I snapped out of my thoughts and went back to taking notes.

I was at lunch with everyone. Nico and Will were sitting together. Will had his arm around Nico, and Nico was leaning into him a bit. Hazel told me he was dealing with something, but I didn't ask since it was none of my business and it wasn't my place to talk about it.

Hazel and Frank were laughing at some funny videos. I think it was cats falling because that's what I heard. Leo was telling Calypso some corny jokes and she was laughing but telling him to shut up. I was reading this book about the Parthenos, or at least I was trying to. Percy was across from me, flicking tiny paper balls into my hair.

I looked up from my book and glared at him. He stuck his tongue out at me and flicked another ball at my forehead. I reached out and grabbed the tissue he used for the paper balls. I stood up and went to go, throw them out.

I came back empty handed and Percy gasped. "You did not just do that" He said dramatically. "Oh yes I did" I replied. I smirked and went back to reading my book. I looked up at Percy and he was pouting. He stood up and walked away.

I thought he was being dramatic so I rolled my eyes and read my book. After a few minutes he came back holding two paper towels.

"Don't even think about it." I said, glaring at him and his paper. "Oh I would never" He replied. I sighed knowing he would continue.

After a while I checked the time. We only had about 10 minutes left until we went back to class. I was almost done with my book so without any distractions I would be able to finish it.

I glanced at Percy and he had a bunch of tiny paper balls in front of him. He was almost done with his last piece of paper. I rolled my eyes because I knew I wouldn't be able to finish my book in time.

About 2 minutes later Percy had finished his piece of paper and had an evil smile on his face.

From the corner of my eye I saw him put all of his tiny balls in his hoodie pocket. He then stood up and walked around the table. He stopped behind me and tapped my shoulder.

"Why hello there Wise Girl" He said. I sighed and turned around. "Hi Percy." I said. He was so tall and lean. He was wearing a blue swim team hoodie and black jeans. He was wearing casual clothes as usual but he looked so good.

I snapped out of my thoughts when Percy put his hand in his hoodie pocket. "I believe I have a piece of paper to avenge."  He said. He took his hand out and in it was a handful of tiny paper balls.

He threw the tiny paper balls at me and they went all over. There were balls in my hair and a pile of balls on the floor next to me. "I will murder you Jackson".

His eyes widened and he ran. I got a small handful of tiny balls in my hand and started running after him. I almost caught up to him, but I slipped on a piece of paper. I yelped and Percy turned back.

We both started laughing and he helped me up. I threw the tiny balls at his face softly. He laughed and I could swear I felt something melt in my chest. But in a very good way. I smiled and chuckled.

He looked down at me since he was a bit taller. We just continued to stare at each other for what seemed like an hour.

We both started inching towards each other. I realized our hands hadn't let go of each other this entire time. I stared into his eyes and I knew he was the one. He had to be.

Before I lost my courage I started leaning in and he did too. I put my hands on his shoulders and he put his hand on my cheek. Right before our lips met, my phone started ringing.

I cleared my throat and checked who it was. It was Piper. I answered immediately and I heard waves so I assumed she was at the beach. "Hey pipes what's up?"

"Annabeth! Something happened! Everything was great but then- but-" Her voice broke. She sounded like she was crying.

"Piper what's wrong? Just say what happened" I responded trying to be calm. I could hear her sobbing. "It's- It's Jason" She barely responded.

Percy became more alert after he heard Jason's name. He looked concerned even though him and Jason weren't that close. He was his first friend from this school so he obviously cared.

Piper's voice sounded so broken and sad. "It's Jason! He's- He's dead"
