No cost too great....

.

No mind to think....

..

No will to break....

...

No voice to cry suffering....

....

Born of God and Void....

.....

You shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams...

...

You are the Vessel..

..

You are the Hollow Knight.

.

.

.

It's dark... Quiet.. But you can still think...... you're alive.

You tried opening your eyes.. But it feels like it's already open. It doesn't feel like you have any eyelids..

You stay still, too tired to move.... Or are you just lazy.. Do you really want to move?.. Are you really tired?

You stared into the darkness, hoping you'll see at least something...

And just as you hoped.. you see a dim light, and things became visible. You see.. floating platforms...

The light... you didn't know where it came from. But you were thankful for it in this ominous darkness.

You sat up, aware of the rough and spiky ground. Looking down to know what caused you such discomfort. Only to held back a scream, as you see broken skulls littered over the ocean floor. But it felt like you can't scream at all, like.. you lack a voice.

Nonetheless, you still panicked. You tried running away from this place, but in every place you turn to. All was covered in broken skulls, except the dark tunnel. But in your common sense, it's not a good idea to go there.

Then you remembered the platforms, you looked up and they were indeed floating. You knowing your jumping capabilities, intended to hang on the edge and pull yourself up.

As you jumped up, you were dumbfounded when you landed on the platform in an inhumane jump. But you decided to wave it off, as long as it can get you outta here. Using this new found knowledge into your advantage. You jumped from platform to platform, until you reached the end of it. A platform that is actually connected to the wall.

You leaned more to the wall, away from the edge. As you let yourself slide to the platform, and curled into yourself, making yourself look more smaller.

Those broken skulls.. it was nothing like a human skull in your studies. But it wasn't what scared you half to death, it was the empty dark abyss in ther sockets. You knew no life resides in it, but it still scared you.

You took multiple of deep breaths, it always helps you, it keeps you stay in control.

Questions rushed through your mind.

Such as what were you doing here? Why are you here? What is happening,  and so on.

As you let your thoughts and panic calm down, you recalled back what happened.

You were walking home.. you decided to pass by the dark alley. Then.. then something pulled you back. You took a long deep breath, you didn't wanna go into panic again.

As soon as you exhaled, you decided to get out of this grave first, before your shower thoughts. You shakily stood up afraid to fall, no matter how much space you have on this platform, it did not reassure you.

When you turned around, you instinctively squated and hold onto the platform. Nothing was there, no. It was your fear of falling, that caused you this action.

Behind you. You see a plain wall, unlike the walls you see in here.. which concludes you that this is no wall. You knocked on it in random areas, trying to identify what it is.

But you can only assume it as a way out, and you didn't know why. You looked around the corners of the odd wall, hoping to see some kind of secret button of some sort to get out of here.

But your hope was shattered, when you didn't see anything. You wanted to cry and sob, but no sound would come out. You curled up to your self once again, only this time you layed on your side. Considering in giving up. You're vision slowly faded, as you feel yourself leaving your consciousness.

So much, for wanting to be in a void of nothingness.

You woke up, from which seems to be a dreamless sleep. You looked around you, and you were still in this dark empty abyss. You wanted to go back to sleep, but you weren't tired.

So, you just stared at the abyss, which felt like it was staring back at you. Expecting for something to suddenly come out of the darkness, but nothing came...

You continued staring, waiting yourself to tire out. The cloth that covers you being the only thing that brought comfort. You felt yourself leave your consciousness once again, wishing to get out of here soon.

You don't know how long you've layed here, but you didn't wanna find out. You could imagine yourself hearing someone say, that you've been gone for centuries. Yeah.. you didn't wanna know.

But there was one thing that changed in this place...

The abyss.. it was comforting.

And it scared you.

It gave off the same feeling, when the darkness pulls your curiosity into it. But more.. comforting. It actually calmed you. It felt like... HOME.

And that's what terrified you the most. No sane being would call this abyss "home". You drift back to your dreamless sleep, the same thing you usually do ever since you set foot on this platform.

You sat on the edge of the platform, you didn't know why you weren't afraid of falling anymore.  But you didn't mind, it's better than always cowering in that corner.

Your past self would call you insane. But since it's still yourSELF, you knew you'd understand.

You stood up turning to the plain wall, you could see an image of yourself. In the very first time you cowered into that corner, but it didn't phase you. You walked to the wall, and rested your forehead on it.

Suddenly, you felt a change of texture from the wall, it was more bumpier. You took a step back to see a complete different wall. It was no longer plain, you could see a pale trident symbol embedded into the humped... gate? Door?

You turned around, only to see a different view. It was still dimly lit, but it was no longer the abyss. For some reason, you couldn't bring yourself to be happy to finally get out. But you continued fort, nonetheless.

To be Continued...
