Cedric Diggory when Rita skeeter tried to question you
You were the female champion for Hogwarts in the Triwizard tournament. This morning you and Cedric had been the pulled out of your class to have a publicity meeting thing.
You both began to follow the little second-year boy who was leading you both along many hallways. I think his name was Corbyn? Or maybe Cory? Oh, wait I think it's Colin?
"Ugh I don't want to talk to that rat skeeter," You said to Cedric
"You're not the only one," He said before laughing
Colin (you think) stopped in front of an empty classroom before opening the door for you both.
"Ahhh here they are" Rita skeeter said while coming over to us.
I pretended to dry reach quietly so that just Cedric could hear me, he gave a little laugh. Rita then came and put her arm around us both leading us to the other champions.
"So Y/N you getting a lot of attention from boys now that you're the champion aren't you?"Rita asked
"I'm sorry what-" You say
"You know the girl who didn't talk much and didn't have many friends gets chosen as the champion and is now getting all the attention, especially from boys, isn't that right Cedric," She said before turning her head to look at Cedric
She looked at him as if she knew something he didn't want her to know, he gave her an angry look.
"I'm sorry I would have thought you would talk more about how amazing Y/N is and about being picked as a champion rather than her past and her love life," Cedric said
You blushed a little, she looked at you both then walked away to the other champions. Rita ignored you and Cedric for the rest of the morning, not once interviewing you about anything else. She seemed to have gotten what she wanted.
The next morning you found out exactly what she wanted, early when you first arrived at the great hall for breakfast a copy of the Dailey prophet was shoved into your hands by Hermoine.
You looked at her confused before you began to read,
On the front page, it said in big letters,
THE ROMEO AND JULIET OF THE WIZARDING WORLD
Cedric Diggory and Y/N L/N the modern star crossed lovers torn apart by the Triwizard tournament. They are both hopelessly in love with each other, but cannot act on these feelings due to the up and coming tournament.
The article went on to state some made-up facts about your undying love your each other before ending in a picture of you and Cedric next to each other.
You looked at Hermoine with your jaw open,
"That cow!"You yelled
"Well she's not half wrong, I mean you do like Cedric" Hermoine whispered to you
"That's not the point Hermoine!"
"Right right right"
You huffed and looked over to the Hufflepuff table, you could see Cedric going red. He must of just read the article.
He looked over to you and pointed at the paper before laughing, you smiled at him.
What you didn't know was that the article was also half true for Cedric.
