As Xabara stood in the center of arena the students roared in surprise. They are surprise how a newcomer witch went directly to Rank 2.
"How powerful could that spell be?" said one witch
"Could you still remember the spell?"
"I have used that spell before but it wasn't made such a huge impact"
While other witch are murmuring they couldn't hide their amusement in their voice that a lowly magi such as theirs, whose parents are mostly slaves are being recognize.
"Congratulations Xabara, you made your kindred spirits proud" said the Headmistress. She smiled at her widely and bowed at everyone in the arena.
She run towards her friends who undoubtedly happy for her. They hug each other tightly and called for a "Party" exclaimed by all.
BACT AT THE GARDEN, foods and drinks are all over the place. Some were dancing circling the fire they have made at the center while others were singing enchanted song. Alice, Sav and Emily took their glass and motioned it above their head.
"Cheers! To Xabara!" exclaimed by Savannah
"To Xabara!" the others repeated.
"You made it girl, never doubted you sino ba naman mag practice hangang hating-gabi" they laugh by Alice statement.
"Efforts are indeed paid off" ika ni Emily
"Did you know why Xabara who is always at this place every night to practice haven't caught even once?" pabirong tuno ni Sav, lahat naman ay tumingin sa kanya. For the it was the biggest mystery because no one has ever been free from the guards in terms of curfew. It would be a huge punishment when one is caught.
"Yeah! Have you discovered something?" excited and curious Emily said.
Hindi naman maiwasang macurious na din si Xabara because it never been a big deal to her as she never encounter a guard in the garden before even though sometimes she's awake until morning.
"Once I followed Xabara because I was curious if she's a spy, no offense Xab it is my nature to keep my guard up haha but that is before" Sav.
"No offense taken" as she chuckles. She never felt a presence before during her practice because she wanted to focus more on her spells than her surroundings.
"I was taken aback to whom I saw from a tree. I thought he seems familiar but I still couldn't visualize him because it is too far. And then one night, as I was strolling in the garden I saw the same figure talking to a guard near the garden lake, not too far from here. It seems his this person is blocking the guard from reaching up to this point see you. And you know who he is?"
"Who is he?" Alice ask
"I saw him at the arena and I knew that it was the same figure at that night"
"Make Haste!" annoyed Alice screamed, Emily and I just laugh at her.
"It's one of the Knights, It was Theodore" Sav exclaimed and the others cheerfully jump around Xabara.
"I knew it! He likes you Xab" Alice blurted and the three have this teasing look all over their face.
"Stop! Pinagsasabi niyo" Xabara's face turns red and the exclaims became more intense. She can't help but felt a tingly feeling in her stomach. From the moment she saw him in the palace she knew his beautiful but that's it, nothing more and nothing less.
She told herself if it is true then it is only because his doing his duty to the King and that is to look out for her.
"Hmm looking out for me" that thought made her more red.
THE NEXT DAY, she went to her classes as usual. It is in History subject that they are given an assignment.
"Inside the glass are pieces of paper that contains a topic. I want you to pick one and give your opinion on the topic. On our next meeting you will have to report about the things you have read." said Professor Menelaos.
Each one went to the front and so does she.
"Emperor and Empress of the Rose Line" written on the piece of paper picked up by Xabara.
AT THE MORTAL'S DORMITORY, mortals are looking intently to the person waiting at the front of their main door. Xabara is waiting outside hoping that Rachel may go out any second. If there is someone who knows about the Empress of the Rose Line then it must be from the Empress herself. She thought to asked the Knights, specially to Theodore but sadly the knights went out to a mission. Although it was only an excuse to see him.
She wanted to ask someone in the mortals to fetch Rachel but their eyes were like daggers. In the books she have read before mortals are the kindest and humblest person but this one is a different case. They seem to be arrogant and highly conceited about their appearances. They look more royals than most of royals. They have exaggerated accessories, their dresses are bright pastel and some wear a tiara.
Like really?
The mortals sees themselves above from other students because of the oracle that the Princess of the Light Realm is in their kind. Everyone does think of that and she as well think as that before. However, when Rachel stood up in the Kingdom of Zaxorie and learned her identity she never doubt she is the Princess everyone is waiting. To her surprise she is the Empress powerful than the Princess of Light.
If she is the Empress, then who is the Princess?
Thankfully she saw Rachel from the center which is about to go outside. She wave at her and she run cheerfully towards her. Rachel knew her identity from the very start because it was her father who went to the mortal world to welcome Rachel in the Realm.
"Why are you here?" said Rachel.
"I need your help, do you have time now?"
"It's about our assignment on History, isn't it?"
Xabara nodded.
"Great, I'm actually going to library for some research. Let us do it there"
AT THE LIBRARY, Rachel is exhausted from reading more than five books looking for clues about the FORGOTTEN WAR which is the topic she picked. What they have known about this war is just a surface level and not truly everything.
"This is exhausting, I can't see something useful information that we do haven't known"
"Maybe you should ask directly from our History Professor or someone reaaaally old" Xabara suggested and Rachel's eyes sparkled.
"Brilliant! Bakit hindi ko iyon na isip" sabay tawa ng dalawa. "I'm guessing your topic is about the Empress?"
"That's right hahaha mine is too simple because of course I know who is the one and only haha" and both laugh.
"You know some students actually went to me when they picked about the Princess of Light Realm as their topic and I was secretly laughing only if they know that I am more powerful than that Princess, whoever she is" their is a smirk plastered on Rachel's face and a glint of a gray halo coming from hers.
It got out the curiosity of Xabara because why would an Empress be not as pure as the snow.
"The thing is I forgot everything Xab, that is also why I must search about what happened in the Forgotten War maybe I will remember something"
Xabara nodded and bid goodbye to Rachel. Did she really forgotten her memories? She shrug her thoughts as she saw Rachel in the distance towards the faculty office to see Professor Menelaos..
THE NEXT DAY, everyone is shock from what they heard. Professor Menelaos, a History professor found dead in his office, a bruised is seen everywhere in his body and most shockingly is his head is nowhere to be found.
