Spencer's POV
"Spencer, your mom was murdered."

No. No! That's ridiculous. My mother has never hurt anyone! Who would hurt her? Maybe her doctor made a mistake, this isn't- that can't be true. He thought.

Spencer sat up in his bed, staring at JJ. He kept his thoughts to himself. He couldn't seem to speak, he could barely move. He just gazed at her, exppressionless.

"Spence, I'm so sorry." JJ was now crying. Each tear was a symbol representing the pain she felt for her best friend, her little brother. He didn't deserve any of the shit he received. The rest of the team didn't know yet, she wanted to tell Reid first, it was the least she could do. As if it would make him feel any better.

He felt numb. His eyes drifted to the floor, focusing onto the cracked tiles, resembelling how he thought his heart looked like. Scarred and cracked. Right now it was weak, weak enough to give out at any moment. Spencer didn't care, in fact he would give anything to drift away. He knows what death is like, thanks to Tobias. He isn't afraid to die.

JJ gave his hand a tight squeeze, and stood from her seat beside Reid's bed. "I'll give you some privacy, I'll be in the waiting room if you need me." With that she walked towards the door, and looked back one more time at the  broken boy before she went to where she'll stay for the next few hours.

Spencer didn't want JJ to leave, but his voice was paralyzed. He could barely breath, much less speak.  Right now all he could do was think. Think about the way he'll choke out the person who did this. The way they will beg for their life in his hands. Just like they did to his mom. He didn't care about the consequences, he didn't care what his team would think, all he wanted was revenge.

It seemed that no matter how much sleep he got he would be eternally exhausted. Spencer rolled over to each side trying to get comfortable, but it was pointless he thought. He grabbed the book at the top of the pile on his nightstand and began reading it for the twenty-seventh time. A couple minutes went by before he heard a light knock on the door to his hospital room.

Hotch slowly entered, and walked toward the chair next to Spencer's bed. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, really- I can actually go home right now." Reid desperately wanted to leave this small room and return to his apartment, where the lights didn't burn holes through his eyes. Besides, he couldn't get anything done here.

Hotch sighed,"Until the doctor discharges you you're not leaving this hospital, understood?" He gave Reid one of his occasional smiles. Although this time it was sympathetic.
Spencer nodded his head and returned his book back on the table. He dreaded the question, but he had to ask.

"Have you had any breaks in the case?" His heart pounded against his chest, he wondered if it thumped any harder it would break a rib.

"We did find something at your abduction site, a charm. It was a gold circle that had little sister engraved into it."

His mind scrambled around searching for answers, clues, anything! Then finally it hit him. It literally felt like the realization punched him in the stomach.

"Reid? Does that mean anything to you? Or your mother?"

Spencer looked at Hotch, rage taking over his mind. His gaze even intimidating Aaron.

"Maeve had a gold charm bracelet. I never payed any attention to the charms or what they said, but-Collette, Maeve's sister, has the exact same one. I saw it on her wrist...when she choked me."
Cat knew about my mother. She knew everything about me, which meant she knew everything about my family. My team. If Collette was her partner she had to have told her everything. I can fill you in on Collette."
