99 Kisses Till Death

A/N: My first story. I uploaded it but my phone did it THREE TIMES so I had to delete the other two. I apologize. Thankyou to the people reading. I'd appreciate some comments, votes, anything (hint hint)... Enjoy.

Summary: I knew that being one of the death god's apprentices would have no benefits whatsoever. But it just got worse when I got stuck with hot guys who seemed to have no purpose other than to torment me with both insults and their unbelievably good looks.

---Izzy's point of view---

"You're dead."

I blinked.

That was such a familiar sentence to me that it didn't really affect me anymore. I heard it almost ten times a morning, all before breakfast, and I had learned to treat it as a term of endearment.

Th estrange thing however, was that instead of the words coming from my brothers as they tried to kill me, it was from some tall, skinny guy.

I wondered why the man was talking to me. I gave him the classic 'angsty teenager, beware' look before turning away.

Really, he should have known better.

If I were him and had seen a strange girl in a large dark hoodie just standing in the middle of the street, I would have used another route to work. I could have been packing some serious weapons under my baggy clothes. Hell, I could have been planning the robbery of the century and wanting a victim to practice on but no, he just had to come over and talk to me.

"Hello?"

Two bony fingers snapped in front of my face and I blinked again before my eyes focused on the man.

Seriously, what was his deal?

He was dressed strangely and I was sure it was way too early for halloween. Or too late. Depends.

He had on a long dark cloak and its large hood was down. His eyes were dark, black actually and he looked like he could do with a few meals. His nose was long and straight and his mouth set in a thin frown. He had no eyebrows, like he had shaved them off or something, his cheeks were hollow and his head was bald, but somehow, that didn't seem all that strange. To top off his look, he held a large scythe in his hand that for some reason, reminded me of the time my grandfather had used one during his harvest on his farm.

"Are you a farmer?"

The man looked at me like I was crazy before muttering to himself about how he was surrounded by idiots. Before I could properly take offense and punch his face in, he sighed.

"Look around you, little girl."

Swallowing the insult that had sprung up when he'd called me a little girl, I looked at him and raised an eyebrow.

"Look at what?"

He pointed behind me and I turned.

My eyes froze on the scene before me and I wondered why I hadn't seen it before.

There were people everywhere, all crowding up the street; yelling, shouting, crying...

A few of them were in uniform, students I guessed, and others were just people who looked like they had been on their way to work.

But the surprising thing though, was the number of cars that looked like they had been attacked my monster trucks.

Two cars, a saloon and a hatchback, were looking completely mashed together while another lay in a ditch nearby. Three other cars were across the road, all seeming to have stopped at funny angles. There were three ambulances around, carrying people who were hurt and others who looked like they were already well on their way to pushing up daisies.
