Spring had finally come to an end. Getting home after my first year of college meant that a large family reunion was just around the corner. Being the eldest child, my purpose in life was to be the perfect student. Yet, all I wanted was to have a relaxing summer and maybe see my childhood crush again.

The last two weeks of June came and went. And my parents were breathing down my neck, as usual about school. Their plan was to have me study the entire summer. Apparently, my grades and IQ were not up to their standards.

I was beginning to lose hope of seeing my life long crush, Kim Namjoon, when my mother interrupted my summer studies with some exciting news.

"Alright, then. In a couple of weeks, we will be joining the family at the amusement park, along with the Kim's and their extended family." My mother did not look too happy about me taking a break, but my sisters had already learned about the gathering.

"Oh! Okay mom! Thanks!" Was all I could say. I was feeling very excited to finally see Namjoon again.

The day finally arrived. I decided to let my sisters ride with me in my car, claiming that my driving skills were not as scary as our father's. I agreed and we headed to the park before our parents.

We arrived safely and full of excitement. There were so many people, clamoring their way to the entrance. The parking lot was big. And the walk from the car was long. But it was worth it.

After walking for about ten minutes, I notice a tall figure, just ahead of us in the crowd. His short blonde hair fluttered as he walked.

I felt my heart skip a beat. I couldn't stop myself as I sprint a little to match my pace with his. I was hoping he would notice me out of the corner of his eye. Luckily, he did.

"OH! Hello y/n! You made it!" His dimpled smile made my heart skip another beat. At long last, we were in the same space again, breathing in the same air. We continue walking toward the entrance, when he mentions the basketball game everyone our age was going to play later.

"Do you want to play on my team? It'll be a lot of fun." His excitement made me grin so big that my face hurt.

"Of course. That's when? In the evening, right?" I wasn't really sure how much I could actually help our team win. But it was for him.

Yet, as soon as we get inside, my sisters drag me away.

"We need to find our cousins. They said they would be in the main pool at the waterpark section." My sisters gave me no time to breath. I looked back for Namjoon, but he was gone. I missed him already.

At the pool, my sisters change into their swimsuits and jump in, leaving me behind since I didn't bring a suit. Annoyed, I walk around, looking for more family members to talk to. Eventually I find my parents, but I didn't want to hear about school. So I head back into the main park to look for Namjoon.

Hours pass and I can't find him anywhere. Hopelessly, I head back to my parents to eat the so-called "picnic food" they brought along. I tried to keep a low profile as more family showed up asking about school...making sure I wasn't being distracted my social events or dating.

Misery surely loves company. My spirits were low and I hadn't seen Namjoon again all day. I wish I knew where he was. His smile always cheered me up. Just thinking about him made me feel a little better.

Night was falling and the park was closing. Sadly, my sisters and I made our way to my car. I wanted to get home so I could curl up in bed and read one of Namjoon's favorite books.

Yet, with only a few feet out of the gates, I saw him. Namjoon was walking to his car too. I race over to him. I just want to hug him tightly and recharge my spirits.

"Namjoon!" I grab hold of his jacket sleeve.

"Oh y/n! There you are!" Namjoon looks surprised to see me.

"I've been looking for you everywhere."

"The game, y/n, remember? You promised to be on my team." A bit of disappointment flashed across his face.

"I'm so sorry. I completely forgot." I replied a little embarrassed.

He lets out a sigh. A small smirk sneaks onto his face. I could see that he forgave me immediately. He moves in close to me, holding my hands.

WE could hear my sisters snickering and teasing us like children. A little frustrated, we walk away, hoping they wouldn't walk so close behind us.

I look up at him and he looks into my eyes. I'm not sure if he whispered to me or if I had imagined it....but I knew he loved me.
