All I Wanted
A Draco Malfoy Fanfiction
By: Hope ChampagneMy soul made love to your soul,
long before our bodies met.
When I first laid my eyes on you,
I recognized you.
You held my future in your hands.Goodbye with Them is Always Easy
Coming from a long line of death eaters, it would come as no surprise that I would have a certain number of expectations to uphold. My parents are extremely uptight and are never easy to satisfy. You could imagine how fast they tried to black sheep me when they discovered that I had no interest in serving the dark lord. Along with the fact that for as long as Hogwarts has been in existence my entire family has been in Slytherin, including my poster-child brother and sister. I would've killed to see the looks of disappointment on their faces when they found out I was a Gryffindor, but I suppose the nasty letter they sent me would suffice.
My family follows close behind me as I walk through the red brick wall of Platform Nine and 3/4. I tried to power walk past them as fast as I could so I could avoid having to say much of a goodbye. I can't stand another lecture or any coldly spoken words to put a damper on the already dreadful first day of school. As I marched down the crowded platform, I could already hear complaints from my family.
"Angel, slow down!" My mother yelled out towards me in a stern voice. I sped up even faster to try to avoid the inevitable, but she still managed to catch up with me. She snatched at my wrist, causing me to stop in my tracks. I turn to look at her with a blank stare of irritation on my face. "Stay with us," she said.
"Classic Angel, she thinks she's too good to be seen with the Slytherin family," Keanu muttered. He dragged his chest sluggishly behind him with my sister and father following close behind.
"Shove it Keanu, don't make this more miserable than it has to be," I said. Although the majority of the time I spend with my family is awful, summer break felt like a dream. I finally got a break from all the bullshit from the previous year and just forget. But like so many times before, the days seemed to slip away and it was all gone too fast.
"The only thing miserable about this is having to be related to you." He snickered cockily. I rolled my eyes, trying to ignore his retort, as I tried to see where I could fit my luggage on the train.
"Alright children, enough bickering. Say goodbye to your mother and sister before your train decides to leave you." My father said hastily. He's always been harsh, call it tough love but I don't think I could tell you the last time he hugged me or told anyone that he loved them. He did anything he could to avoid any sort of emotion and constantly gets onto my mother about it. I never understood why he felt the need to act like that constantly.
"I love you both so much," my mother said softly as she reaches for a hug from me. She swayed side to side and pets my hair; she clung to me like it was like the last time I was going to see her. She then reached for my brother after he shook my father's hand. I turned to my sister, and we just gave each other a nod. If you thought my mother and our relationship was complicated, you wouldn't believe my sister. The way my parents favor my sister is cruel. All I ever hear is how I should be more like Danoa, it is sickening. So naturally, from basically competing with my siblings for my parents' attention from a young age, it has managed to make our relationship way past dysfunctional.
"Goodbye Danoa, Goodbye Father," I said, emotionlessly. I turn away from them and follow my brother onto the train. It didn't take long at all for my brother to find a way to leave me to fend for myself. I looked for an empty compartment with any faintly familiar face. The stream huffed out of the top of the train and filled the surrounding platform below, and the horn blew loudly, signaling us the train was about to leave. I push my way through the other students and find my way to a compartment with enough room for me, of course with first years.
