I felt my boyfriend Romane, pulling me closer to his chest, his hands wrapped around my body in a tight embrace as I shivered at the memories.His soft pink lips brushing lightly against my cheek calming me. Now this went on for a while until my old justin bieber song started playing signaling along with the vibration that my phone was ringing and of course Karren my best friend's name popped up on the screen. Pressing the green button I answered in a somewhat dull voice.
"Hey karry, what do you want now?"
"Bittttch, where the hell have you been?" she screeched into the phone.If you've not guessed by now Karren is always like this,calling,texting and trying her best to annoy me with every chance she gets.We are pretty much sisters you could say. "Maria?" She said in a rather questionablely calm voice "yes, babe what do you want now?" She took a deep breathe and outtering the words I dread hearing.
"Your mom is in town , she's in our living room throwing a fit. The bitch is driving me insane!!!,you need to come get her before I do something I'll regret!!!!!"
Instantly my chest tightened,my hands became sweaty, my words stuck in my throat, the memory of mother once father was taken away resurfacing, my nails digging into my palm,my teeth sinking into my bottom lip, my brain entering another realm.
As I remembered the pain of my head hitting against the wall,the devastating fear of her punishments,the scars of her words,the joy she took in my suffering,in my tears,in my distruction all became too much has i gasp for air.
Romane along with Karren's voice dragging me back to reality. He stood bringing me up with him the dark blue eyes I've known for so many years staring into mine's, it's beauty reminding me of the ocean.A perfect vacation.
"Marr,deep breathes" i tried to follow his instructions. My hands holding on to his shoulders following the motion of his lips. "You can do this,I know you can, I believe in you" he whispered has i released him grabbing my purse from the small table close to the door. A smile now on my face has i opened it to leave.Confidence returning to my being.
