Jungkook's POV:

I texted Jimin hyung about this so he had time to call Yeonjoo's parent while we're out. I drove out of the daycare and took Yeonjoo to buy a gift for him.

"Hm? We aren't going home?", he asked as I took the other way. The rain isn't as hard pouring as earlier. I just have to bring Yeonjoo to the toy store so he could buy something that he likes.

Whatever anyone says, I'm going to treat Yeonjoo the way I know he deserves. He's a very bright and happy kid. He's smart and he's responsible. I could even say that he has something in him that makes him more mature than I am.

I didn't answer him anything until we got there. The rain has stopped, but it was still evident that it has been raining with all the puddles on the road. I parked the car in front of the toy store and turned off the engine.

When I saw the surprised look on Yeonjoo's face, I chuckled. "Let's go.", I said as I unbuckled my seatbelt and he did the same. We got out of the car and I locked it.

I held his hand while entering the toy store... wait, why am I feeling so excited? I'm not buying myself a toy- ... or am I?

Yeonjoo pointed at spiderman and on the same aisle, I saw ironman toys. This is going to be too hard for me. Jimin is going to kill me if I wasted budget on toys unless they are some nighttime stuff.

I closed my eyes on the stuff I wanted to get for myself and looked at Yeonjoo. "You're really gonna buy me a toy?", he asked without looking at me. "Yes. Pick anything. It's a gift for being so good at school today.", I told him with a smile.

That's when I heard voices in the background where it seemed like a parent is saying sorry to his kid about not being able to buy the toy that he wanted.

"I'm sorry son, it's too expensive for me to buy. You know that I'm trying my best, right?", the man said softly and my heart broke. "But it's my birthday today.", the little boy who seemed just a year or two older than Yeonjoo said sadly.

"Kook hyung, can I get something from my bag in the car for a bit?", he asked me and I hummed. I followed Yeonjoo who was quickly running towards to car. I unlocked it and waited for him.

When he closed the door after getting what he needed I locked the car door and he was already by the entrance. He went looking for something or someone.

When he seemed to find what he was looking for, it was the same toy that the kid from earlier wants. He sneaked to see if the father and son were still around.

He didn't even speak nor consult me with anything, he did not check the price for the toy and went to the cashier by himself.

When I ran up to him- he was so fast- he pulled a stash of money from a pencil case and my eyes widen. "Where did you get those?", I asked him. "My savings since I didn't have to buy food at school.", he answered swiftly.

"That would be $52.", the cashier said and Yeonjoo skillfully chose three $20 bills and handed it to the cashier. The cashier gave the packed toy to Yeonjoo and left me and the cashier  with the change.

My eyes followed Yeonjoo who ran up to the father and son. I saw him give the toy to the kid and he seemed reluctant to receive it. I heard Yeonjoo saying, "Happy Birthday! We all deserve to smile on our birthdays.", he said joyfully and my heart warmed.

This kid is phenomenal. The father and son thanked Yeonjoo and Yeonjoo ran up to me beside the cashier again. The cashier was also smiling at Yeonjoo for his good deed.

He gave the change to Yeonjoo and I smiled at him. "You're so kind... what did I do to deserve you?", I asked him in awe as I carried him in my arms. He placed the change back to his pencil case.
