Chapter Warning: violence, gun violence, blood
Two pairs of eyes looked at you from across the kitchen table. Apprehension and sympathy were written all over them. You spent the night at Misa's again, but this time Ryo had come along. He had coaxed the truth out of the two of you, becoming upset that neither of you bothered to let him know The League of Villains had been in a VIP room.
That was all either of you told him though, until now.
After explaining every minuscule detail of what happened last night, they simply stared back at you, unsure of what to say.
What happened to you was traumatic. Of course it was, you weren't blind to that fact. Yet, in the back of your head it wasn't the harassment or even really the dismemberment that troubled you. You'd seen all that before, sure it shook you up last night but, it was well into the next day now.
What troubled you most were his actions. Why would he save you? In what world does a villain care about preventing a girl from getting sexually assaulted?
Before you could continue fixating further on your thoughts, both their voices spoke up simultaneously. They uttered profuse apologizes, and swears of 'I'll get him' over and over.
Shigaraki already did. You thought, slumping down in your seat as they continued their own individual rants.
You and Misa had made the decision to keep out Shigaraki's involvement and subsequently him saving you. Misa was afraid outing that bit of information to your manager would not only get yourselves put in The Leagues radar, but also spark up an investigation with the police.
Neither of you could afford not working for days. It was selfish sure, but neither of you could say you felt sympathetic for the man who had lost his arms. Probably his life.
It wasn't until you heard the words "You can't go back to work" that your head snapped up, your attention finally focused on your friends.
"No! I want to go back. I'm going to work tonight." You said. Ryo's eyes narrowed at you, his head shaking like he was a father denying his child the chance to go out.
"It's too dangerous."
"I'm going. I'll be fine." You sneered, having never taken lightly to being told what to do.
"I really think you should just stay here-"
"And I really think you shouldn't tell me what to do." You interrupted, eyes turning to slits as you glared at the boy across the table.
You wouldn't sit here all day and wallow in it. That just wasn't your way. You wanted to work, take your mind off of what happened and keep productive.
That wasn't just it though, you knew that. Hell, everyone at the table knew that. You wanted to see him again, tell him thank you at the very least.
It felt stupid, naïve, and even reckless to want to be around him again. You couldn't ignore that. Any sane person would just leave it alone, go about their life and just be thankful from afar.
You were stubborn though, you always had been. Once you want something, or set your mind to it, there's no use.
"He won't be there. Even if he is, there's no way our manager is going to let you back in that room." Misa finally spoke up, staring at you dead in the eyes. She always saw right through you.
Your earlier spark faltered, "It's not about him."
She snorted, rolling her eyes, "Please spare me. I know it is."
