Red Panda shrugged. "If you don't know, then it probably doesn't need addressing right away." In truth, the recently banished hero was still adjusting to his new life here, and was not ready to learn everything about his roommate yet.
"Very well. Anyway, do you like pizza?"
"Oh, that's what you're making? It looks like a sandwich."
"This is a bacon, lettuce, and egg sandwich. I was asking about pizza for dinner. It is my understanding humans need to eat regularly to keep up their strength."
Red Panda smiled and thanked Incomplete Robot for his thoughtfulness. His roommate insisted that it only made sense logically to keep his friend healthy. Hm, things might not be so bad here after all, he thought.
The rest of the day was fairly uneventful, giving Red Panda a lot of time to adjust to his new life as a resident of Absurd Hero City. Even so, there were things that no amount of adjustment could replace. As he went to bed that night, he reflected on the family he had been separated from.
"Good night, Red Panda," said Incomplete Robot as they both went off to their rooms.
Responding in kind to his roommate, the hero then entered his bedroom for the second night. As he lay in bed, he could not help but really begin to miss his wife and children. I hope they're doing okay... he thought.
Not Japan was now under the new rule of Sayonara, the arch-nemesis of Red Panda. On the outskirts of Kyoto, in a small house, Yuki Yamada and her children, Kenichi and Jodi lived a peaceful life free from most of the danger that the Red Panda's profile would normally bring. Since the banishment, they were swiftly compensated, with their surnames changed and their identities kept safe from the new villain-led government. They had a clone of the Masked Lawyer staying with them to make sure that they would be safe.
"If you want us to be safe, maybe the Tribunal should get us out of the country. What do you say to that?" asked Yuki of the Masked Lawyer clone.
"We are working on finding alternative solutions. We're hoping to have someone come in and depose Sayonara of his farcical position."
"Look, I get that you had your reasons for banishing my husband, his failure embarrasses me as a wife and citizen, but if you cannot guarantee my safety, then what was even the point of banishing him?"
Not Earth's situation would get worse before it got better, but this story is not about that, not yet anyway. Red Panda drifted off to sleep that night, his thoughts of his family fading away as he began to have normal dreams. At least, the first two dreams were normal.
In the third, Red Panda found himself in a classroom, though all the students were adults. He looked down at his desk, to see a sheet of paper.
In about 300 words, describe your experience in Absurd Hero World:
Below this instruction was space to write the requested. Red Panda looked around the room. A woman stood at the front of the class, writing her name on the blackboard with chalk.
"Attention class, my name is Lucy Lucid, and I want to thank you all for signing up to... this subject."
"I didn't sign up for shit," said a voice. Red Panda recognised it instantly and turned around. It was Sarcasm Girl.
It was at this moment Red Panda came to realise that every person surrounding him was likely from his apartment building. There were people he did not recognise, but also everyone that he had met and knew to be in the same building.
