Gus Porter x reader (The Owl House) [part 1]

Yeah, I was re-watching an episode (Hooty's Moving Hassle) & I had to because of his Bucket List- also I'm making him 13 in this instead of 12.

(Y/n)'s p.o.v

I sigh... everything in this life is so boring!! No one understands me, it's like I should be in a freak world - well, that's what they say about me. Which is why I'm being homeschooled instead of going into eighth grade with all the other students. Though at the moment I'm walking around the forest, feeling bored until I heard my old school bully. Her name is J.. that's literally it- but she's coming, she's probably with her jock boyfriend. My eyes widen as I just start running, being a bit scared as I run, since I'm not the most athletic.

At this point I'm running as I hear quick footsteps, but I also tripped and my head landed in a bucket, so I just get up and adjust the bucket as I run. While running I find an old abandoned looking house, so I run around to the front of it. I then see a girl, a lady and a small weird looking dog run out of it, my eyes widen at the sight. Not to mention I'm pretty sure I lost J and her boyfriend, so we're basically all alone right now. "Luz, watch out!" The dog calls out, my eyes widen at that, but some type of stuff wraps around him.

The lady has her hand lifted and facing him, so my guess was that she did it, keeping my eye/distance on her I see her glare at the girl-.. Luz. "Fire!.. huh?" Luz asks out as her paper burns to a crisp, so... I don't really know what that means. Yet the lady tackles her, so I know that a lady shouldn't fight a child, so I shoulder her off the girl. "Please, just listen to me!" The lady says as I get forced back by a weird force of wind towards the dog. He looks at me and says "let me loose!" I don't know who to trust, but I just untie him anyways.

"No way! You deserve to be petrified, not Eda" Luz says, but the lady says "you're right, I deserve to be in Edalyn's place." "Why did you do all this?" Luz asks again as I got the dog-thing untied, but I held him on my lap. He looks at me confused, but I keep my eyes on the lady and Luz as I'm confused/nervous and pet him. It was an idea of how to keep me calm, but he didn't object as he curls up in my lap and keeps his eyes on them too. After hearing their conversation, I know that this lady be a terrible lady, but she knew her mistakes at least.

Also that little owl looks cute "alright, Lilith, I don't like your whole - deal - but... we need your help to save Eda." Lilith.. okay, now I'm getting somewhere- "thank you, now let's head back" "can I come??" I ask out. The three look at me shocked "what?!" "From what I can tell, it'll probably be better there than it is for me here. And I'd rather leave everything behind than live another second feeling like I'm a nobody to everyone." Luz teared up as Lilith laughed softly "welcome to the team, kid" she says as the dog-thing jumps off my lap.

-time skip-

Yeah, I pretty much know everything as I got to stay with Luz, Eda and King... even after Lilith and Eda pretty much are powerless. I chose to learn a bit of magic with them, but to mostly use for fun more than fighting.. kind of like Gus basically. Though he has somehow captured my heart, I also got him his own human bucket, which is good..  I guess. I don't really know if he knows what a relationship is, or if he really wants to get into one. He seems too innocent to know this type of stuff, and I'm okay with that... I just wish it didn't hurt my heart.

He's always so nice to me, and doesn't really know/acknowledge my feelings... which is why I decided to hang out with Willow today. "(Y/n), I can tell something's on your mind, what's up??" Willow asks softly, so I sigh and prop my head up against my fist. Not looking at her I say "do witches know what relationships are??" "(Y/n), we're not that different. There's many different types of relationships; family, what people call regular, gay, lesbian- there's a lot." I smile softly saying "well, that reassures a bit... I have a bit of a crush-" Willow gasped with a big smile.

"Is it Luz??" "What!? No!" "There's not many other people it could be... unless it's Gus~" Willow teased me, so I felt myself blush softly. Willow's eyes widened as she says "oh my gosh, (Y/n)!! That's amazing!" She playfully shoved me. We laugh a bit at her reaction, but I say "but I don't know how to tell him, or know if he even likes me back. You've seen how innocent he is!!" "Please, he's my best friend, I've known how innocent he is." "Exactly-" "but I also know he's had crushes before, and probably has a crush on you right now."

Nervously biting my lip I just sigh and say "well, I guess I'll tell him tomorrow" "why tomorrow??" "It's my 13th birthday today. I kind of don't wanna get rejected on my birthday" I answer out as I stand up and start going out. "(Y/n), WAIT!!" Willow yells as I walk past her dads to the front door, but I turn around to see her. She has a bit of a sympathetic face as she looks at me "why didn't you tell us?" "Because I didn't wanna celebrate. I'll see you tomorrow, okay?" I say as I smile softly, she nods and I finally start walking away.

-later that day-

Reading that Azura book Luz talked up- I smile a bit as I feel so calm and perfectly at peace with the world around me for once. I just wish it didn't get ruined by Eda, Luz, Willow, Lilith and Amity with a big cake as they have big smiles. "SURPRISE!" They all yelled out, I jump as I shrieked a bit, but sigh as I say "Willow, I said-" "I know." "But she's a good friend that tells your other friends about your birthday since you should always celebrate a birthday. Everyone celebrates their own birthday!!" Luz says a bit sad, so I sigh at this "okay, fine.. let's do this then."
