Chapter 4- Junior

"DING DING DING..." my alarm went off as I laid there staring at the ceiling thinking how this day could go really good or very bad. I got up went to my bathroom brushed my teeth, and washed my face. I had a lace front in my hair so all I had to do is flat iron it and after I finished I put my clothes on and headed across the hall to Lonnie's room. It's 7:45 and he's blasting YoungBoy, my dad has to be used to this or something. I'm banging on his door and he's not answering so I just went downstairs to eat a bowl of cereal and watch tv waiting for him. I heard my phone ding, I have a message from my mom, bestie, and Rashaad. My mom told me to keep my head high, and remember it's just the first day. My bestie, Nia, told me to let her know how school goes. And Rashaad said "goodmorning shorty ❤️ call me when you get out dat shit", sometimes I hate how ghetto he is lol. "Here I come son!!" Lonnie yelled down the stairs while turning off his music. My dad came out of his room, which is downstairs, "goodmorning noonie butt" he said. "Goodmorning Big Lon" I muttered because that's what his friends call him. "What you say?" He asked. But Lonnie was coming down so I got saved. "We out pops" jr said to my dad while we both walked out to the car. "Let me drive Lonnie" I directed. "Do you know how ?" He asked. "Duhh I wouldn't be tryna kill us." I said. He threw me the keys and said "let me see ya skills shorty." I drove out the garage as he guided me to Miami High. As I pulled up and looked for a parking spot I saw tons of students who dresses nothing like Ohio people. Lonnie must've saw me being amazed because he looked over at me and said "don't crash tryna stare at everybody drip." I laughed and pulled into the nearest parking spot because we were about to be late. As me and Lonnie walked into the school, a thousand people greeted him because he's the quarterback on the varsity football team. "If you need anything, text my phone I'm always around Lay" he yelled to me as we were splitting apart because the hallways & lockers are divided by what grade you're in. As I arrived to my locker, it had my schedule taped on it. I snatched it off and began to look for my first class. When I found it, I introduced myself to the teacher and she told me to sit wherever I want. I sat in the middle row bc I don't like being in the front or back. Students began to join the classroom very loud & obnoxious because they were happy to see each other again. I guess. This class was kind of boring. After first period I went to second. That class didn't have a lot of students as well as third period. But when fourth period came I realized that class was drama so it was mainly girls, cheerleaders & majorettes, they told me how pretty I was and how I should join one or the other. "Sit with me for lunch" a girl named Diamond insisted. After this class was lunch, so I left out with her and she led me to the lunchroom. When we got in there I texted Lonnie to ask if this was his lunch period too. But it wasn't. We sat down and she asked was I eating. I said no. She told me she doesn't usually eat either. "So are you going to think about cheerleading? We already had tryouts in the summer but I'm the captain I can get you on there TODAY if you want" she demanded. "I haven't cheered since elementary but I'll do it if you really want me to" I said. She got super excited, we exchanged numbers, and we talked a little more about ourselves until the bell rung. On my way to fifth period I saw the cutest boy in this school since I've been here. He was fooling with the CPO at the end of the hallway, by my locker so he saw me too. I thought he was about to walk past me but he stopped and said "you must be new" I said "Yeah I am" he said "Can I see your schedule gorgeous" I handed it to him and smiled. He said "Aw we got fifth hour together cmon" so I shut my locker and walked with him. When we got into the classroom he requested me to sit by him. So I did. A guy walked over to us and said to the cute boy "I knew you was gone try to get her first" people laughed and he responded "shut up pu**y, you blockin" then class started. After the teacher got done talking, we were doing the assignment and he asked my name and number. I gave him both. Then I asked his name he said it was Jalen but save his contact as husband. I think he's adorable but he's trying to be too smooth I thought in my head. The bell rung and sixth & seventh hour flew by. At the end of the day Diamond texted me and told her meet me in the gym. I went. Her & the cheerleading coach were in there talking. She introduced me to coach Amy & told her I was joining. Amy was very nice & warm. "Well hello new wildcat, it's nice to meet you, will I see you at practice tomorrow ?" She asked. "Nice to meet you as well and you sure will" I answered. "That's what I wanna hear" Diamond happily jumped in. "See you then" Amy finished. I walked out of the gym calling Lonnie. He didn't answer. I went to the senior hallway looking for him and I said him tonguing down a girl. I didn't want to interrupt so I turned around and went to the car. When I got in the car I got a message from him saying "Yo you good sis wya" I texted back "I'm in the car kisser" he replied "😂😂 you're buggin" I said "yea yea come on." He ran out of the building and got in the car. "I'm dropping you off home because I have practice but dad's at work so you'll be there by yourself" he told me. "That's fine." I said. When we pulled up to the house I told him I'll be waiting for him to get home for that 2k match. He said "bet" and drove off. When I got in the house I cooked for everyone, took a shower, and watched TV while texting people.
