Chapter 5- Diamond or Jalen

I guess I fell alseep while texting and watching TV. When I woke up I had a text from Diamond and Jalen. Diamond said "Ngl you bad ash that's why I want you to cheer lol" and Jalen told me to ft him when I can. But I texted Diamond back before I did so. "Thank you, you are too sis" I replied back to her. "Sisss !?" She asked. In my head I thought "oh right I just met her why tf am I calling her sis" so I texted back and said "Diamond*" she replied "Nah, bae* 😏😘". I stared at my phone for so long making sure I wasn't trippin. I didn't know what to say. I never talked to a girl like this before. She double texted "Oops did I scare you away?? Where'd you go ?" She asked. I had to lie to not seem scared. I said "Oh no I just keep dozing back off lol". "Can I call you tn?" She questioned. I thought to myself, "but Jalen fine ass want me to call him" "maybe I'll call him then her" "I really wanna know where this gonna go with her tho" "I wanna see his face thooo". I heard Lonnie coming in because he was singing extremely loud. I ran into his room because I have been very bored without him. "You're mad ready to get whooped in 2k eh?" He asked. "I'm not yo average girl son" I said trying to use his accent. "Love ya confidence yo, sooo how was school did you meet new friends?" He asked all sarcastically. "Actually, yes I did, maybe you know them, Diamond Hill & Jalen Allen" I bragged. "JALEN ALLEN??" He screamed. Before I could answer, he busted out laughing. "What's funny jr?" I asked confusingly. "J is varsity point guard on the basketball team, he gon play you, don't go for it". My phone rang an incoming FaceTime from him as Lonnie was speaking. I ran out of his room into mine to answer. "Were you busy?" He asked before I said hello. "Not really just about the game with Lonnie" I said. "RICHARDSON??" He asked panicking almost. "Umm...yes... that's my brother lol" I dragged. "Oh shit I was bout to say" he said as if Lonnie was my boyfriend. "Call me after he beat you" Jalen spoke. "Okay" I said before hanging up. When I went back into Lonnie room he was already picking his team. "Was that your boyfriend Jalen?" He said being funny. "That's not my boyfriend!!" I said seriously. While in halftime of the game Diamond started calling. I answered and put my AirPods in. "Hi baby" she said. Her voice is so soothing, it sent a weird feeling through my body everytime she talked. I wasn't expecting the "baby" part so I paused. "What's up" I replied. She said "Uhun I don't like the energy, should I call back when you're not busy?" I wanted to talk to her but I don't know what she expected me to say. "I'm just playing the game with Lonnie we're almost done but if you want to, you can". She stayed on the phone. Lonnie gave me a weird look as if he could hear what she was saying. He beat me by 3 so I was kind of upset. On my way out of his room he said "Alaylah mute your phone" so I did. He said "I didn't know you liked girls" I said "what?? She's just a friend and I just joined the cheerleading team". He said "Diamond is going to try to get you just like every other jawn". I looked at him with the most confused face ever. "She's gay in case she didn't tell you" he proceeded. Everything makes sense now. I went into my room to have a more private conversation. "Wyd" she asked. "Nothing finna watch something wyd" I asked. "Homework you never told me if you fw sb or not". Quickly I said "I don't". She replied "good, you mine now". It made me smile but what am I supposed to say ? "Hehe okay" was the first thing to slip out my mouth. Few hours went by, I heard my dad coming upstairs, so I faked sleep. He knocked on my door, I didn't respond, so he didn't come in. Although I heard him and Lonnie talking. When I heard him going back downstairs I called Diamond name but she didn't respond. Did she fall asleep on the phone ? Jalen texted me 3 times. "Wyd" "You see me texting you" "Alr now call me" but I didn't reply because I didn't wanna hang up on Diamond. Tomorrow is about to be crazy is all I could think about before I fell soundly asleep otp with Diam.
