"What do you mean by that?" I ran up after Mitch. He calmly knocked on the door. "We really shouldn't be here, Mitch. He doesn't get many visitors. I don't even think he likes pe-" I stopped talking when Mitch knocked on the door again. I didn't know why he wasn't listening but I was afraid that Mr. Hall would be mad at us.

"Who's there?" The frail old man opened the door. I don't think I've ever seen him. He opened the door with a little struggle from his walker. His eyes widened at the sight of Mitch.

"It is good to see you old friend."

"Come in." The old man ushered Mitch in. The angel grabbed my hand to bring me inside with him. Mitch turned to look at Mr. Hall.

"What is with this look?" Mr. Hall smiled and his dark skin crinkled at the corners of his eyes. Suddenly, a quick gust of wind wrapped around his frail old body and he disappeared from sight. When he reappeared, he was tall and lean. But I could tell he was powerful.

"It's good to see you, Mitch."

"Likewise, Todrick." They hugged. I watched as they pulled away. I was completely frozen. Todrick looked at me.

"I think we scared your helper. Oh!" Todrick came over to circle around me. "He's human. A sexy human." I yelped as his hands wrapped around my waist from behind. Mitch blinked but didn't react. He seemed confused. I back away from Todrick and into someone else. I turned to look at the person.

"Stealing my boyfriend?" The person said it calmly but I watched as his pupils turned into silts. I took a frightened step back. Mitch pulled me behind him. "Or was mine stealing yours, angel?"

"You are the reason my brother fell from Heaven, shifter."

"The name's Chester. And blow it up your ass. You stay here long you'll develop your own feelings for that human there." I felt my cheeks start to burn. "Maybe losing your virginity will loosen that virgin hole and make you less like you have a stick shoved up your ass." I felt the tension between the two. Chester and Mitch did not like each other.

"It's just like when I told him I was leaving." Todrick came to stand next to me while the angel and shifter continued to argue. "Mitch didn't do well in Heaven. And neither did I. But Mitchell couldn't leave our father. He was brainwashed."

"He loves his Father."

"Angels are incapable of love." I looked at how he was looking at Chester. That was love. "Until they give up their ties to Heaven or they spend time around humans, the only emotions they feel are loyalty, anger, and revenge."

"But he acted so happy when I first met him." Todrick was looking at me out of the corner of his eye.

"He was feeding off your own emotions. Human emotions are strong." He sighed. "Chester is right, though. You need to get that stick out of his ass. Teach him to be human."

"And for fuck sakes, teach him contractions." Chester had his attention back on me and Todrick. "I don't need Mr. High-Almighty thinking he's better than me!"

"You are a venomous snake!" Mitch shot back. The two went back to fighting with each other. I tried to stifle my laughter. They were like a bunch of kids.

"The longer he stays here, the more emotions he's going to gain. He'll be confused and dangerous. He'll have random outbursts that he can't control. And since he's close to you, it will be directed towards you. He kissed you, right? To heal you?" I nodded, trying to keep the blush off my cheeks. "He has a stronger bond with you. You're the only human he can't read." He looked at a feuding Chester and Mitch.

"Is that what happened to Chester?"

"I saved him. He....he was on the brink of death because of something I did." He looked back at me sadly. "Angels have blood on their hands. The blood of innocent people. They follow their orders and at that time, shifters were the focus. Anyone that didn't bow to God was killed. And I almost killed the one person that understands me the most. The one that I have come to love." Mitch was silently glaring at Chester.

"Have you ever thought about going back?"

"I couldn't even if I wanted to." I stayed silent to show my confusion. "Only virgin angels can be accepted into Heaven."

"Oh." I looked back at Mitch with an embarrassed blush.

"So if you want to have sex with Mitchell, make sure it's worth it." He looked so sad as he gazed at Mitch. "My little brother....I tried to protect him. But when I left for Chester, Mitch was alone. He began to lean on Daniel. Daniel isn't a good angel. I'm just hoping he didn't get to Mitch." I moved my weight from one foot to the other.

"So....you're brothers? Wouldn't that be incest?" Todrick laughed loudly which successfully knocked Mitch and Chester out of their argument.

"We're brothers of faith. Not blood." The mood immediately dropped. Chester was pulled into Todrick's arms protectively and Mitch came to stand in front of me.

"What's wrong?"

"I do not know." Mitch was clearly confused. When the doorbell rang, Mitch's burnt wings came to wrap around the both of us. He was extremely protective. It was kind of adorable. I saw Todrick and Chester look over his wings sadly.

"Mitch, relax." Todrick slowly went over to hold Mitch's shoulders. "I'll take care of it." His wings went back to their rightful place. Todrick went to the door. Mitch looked after them. He changed his gaze to the messed up shirt on the floor.

"I am sorry."

"It's fine." I put my fingers on his chin and tilted his head up. "Are you okay?"

"I am scared." He whispered it to me.

"Why?" He looked towards the door where Todrick and Chester were talking to some men in suits.

"They have something that belongs to me." I put Mitch behind me when the mysterious men walked in the house. He held onto my arm.

"Can I help you?" My hand went to lightly touch Mitch's hip. I noticed a dagger hilt sticking out of one of the guys' pockets. It was out of the ordinary for that man.

"The meteor shower a couple days ago, did you see anything odd?"

"Explain odd." I said calmly. Inside, I was shaking with fear. I felt Mitch's head rest against my shoulder comfortingly. The men looked behind me at Mitch.

"What about your boyfriend there?" Mitch became extremely shy.

"He doesn't talk." I didn't know what else to say. If Mitch spoke, he wouldn't be seen as a normal person. "We didn't see anything. Who the hell are you?"

"That's not important." I saw a flash of a badge before they left. They were the military. The door slammed behind them.

"Humans have gotten a lot smarter." Chester was the one who said it.

"Are those people-"

"Your government....yes." Mitch was still hiding away.

"They have my weapon."

"They have a lot more than that." Todrick came over to inspect Mitch.

"Where's your Grace, Mitchell?" Mitch began panicking.

"I-I...." He held his face in his hands.

"They have it. That's why they found you. Scott." Todrick turned to me. "You need to teach him to be a normal teenager. We'll enroll him into school Monday."

"That gives me a weekend."

"We have to hurry. He has to be seen as normal until we can get his Grace. It's in the dagger right?" Mitch nodded slowly. Todrick went somewhere talking about some plans and Chester followed his worried boyfriend.

"Are you okay, Mitch?" Mitch nodded. "I'm going to protect you. You're my friend." I only got a tiny smile in response.

This angel will be the best thing to happen to me.
