Fun-house mirror

Your heart is a mirror like a wicked doppelganger
The reflection of something so much stranger.
The distorted projection casted in darkness
This is what happens when you give up brightness

You play your part in the masquerade. With toxic lies in your shallow crusade.
The smiles you flash is an empty shell
Your ignorance runs deep like a black water well.

The fog will cover your very will to live
Your conscientious spite is so vindictive
The proclamations spoke of integrity
overwhelmed by hypocritical insincerity.

The pain of your past spews out like venom.
From all the hurt I know it's just a symptom
Weather your prideful, jealous, spiteful or harbor hate.
Your reflection tells you, your doing great.

The flashes hit you like shattered glass
Memories invade like insects that just won't pass.
Where did she go, that girl who was me
The chains that you cling to you, longing to be free.

Each night that I lay quiet in bed.
Those haunting images replaying in my head.
Do you see them, hear them, or smell the scent of the darkness?
Each time it plays like subtle hardness.

You can try to paint the perfect picture
But your light is like a broken fixture
Tell yourself it's okay not to feel
Pretend like it all was just never real

The endless monochromatic cycle,
playing endlessly it's almost frightful.
From wanting to be peaceful like the ocean tide.
The feeling of happiness return back inside.

Be careful who's mirror you chose to gaze into.
I chose to reflect the image of the God who is true.
Mirrors were created to reflect colors and light.
So step out of Satan's funhouse mirror night.
