-Makoto's P.O.V-

Ever since we were children. Kirigiri and I have been inseparable. We went everywhere together. Nights on in towns, the park, we even went to the same school. But soon, we attended hopes peaks Acedemy, and I made new friends. Like Toko and Yasuhiro and Byakuya. Kiri and I started to drift further and further away, we still talked a bunch but.. it just didn't hit the same... I don't know what could've happened..

"Hey Kiri-Kiri!!"

"Makoto."

"Hm? Makoto?? Heh, it's Na-eggy remember!" I laughed when the nickname left my mouth

"No. For now on, Makoto is okay." She said, her voice sending shivers down my spine.

"O-oh okay.." I was actually sad. I liked the nickname.. and we swore that we would always call each other that as kids.

"Anyways, why are you here?"Jeez, if looks could kill.. I would be totally dead.

"To walk you to school!"

"Do you think i need some bodyguard? And if I did, you wouldn't be my first choice."

"Kiri-Kiri, you're being real mean.."

"Refer to me as Kirigiri and Kirigiri only"

"Why..."

"Because I said so!" With that I earned a slap to the face. And a hard one too..

I didn't feel like talking.. I ran to school, crying. I went over to the middle of a circle, where my best friends Yasuhiro, Byakuya, and Toko stood. I made my way to Yasuhiro, and put my head in his chest, in which he hugged me. Hiro was the one that comforted me when things would get bad, the other two, weren't good with that.

"What happened with Makoto?" Byakuya said, sternly but I could tell he was worried

"Y-Yeah?" Toko agreed and walked up to me.

"What's up with that?" She pointed at the light pink bruise on my cheek.

"K-Kiri.. slapped me after I tried to walk her t-to school and.. I-I don't know what I d-did.."

Kyoko walked in the school. Toko ran up to her and questioned her. Loud enough for me to turn my head.

I saw the hurt in Kiri's eyes when she saw me crying into Hiro's chest as Byakuya rubbed my back. She tried to approach me, only to be stopped by Byakuya.

"No. You did this to him, you can talk to him later Kirigiri" he hissed out her name to let her know she really messed up.

We started to walk away, but I could've sworn I heard a feint "Makoto.." I didn't bother turning my head.

-a few hours later//after school-

I was on my way home with Toko, since Hiro and Byakuya had a club for extra credit, so Toko offered to take me home. Anyways, I got a call from a number, I didn't know it and it wasn't a No caller ID so I picked up.

"Hello?"

"Yes.. are you Makoto Naegi?"

"Yes??"
