Josh's P.O.V
It was the morning after I'd been reunited with Jaden and everyone was discussing our next move in the kitchen while we are.The rooms upstairs had been full so Jaden and I had slept of the couches downstairs. So far what I've found out is that Tayler and Bryce are dating and that's it.
I knew Bryce pretty well back in school. I went to almost all of his parties and I've hung out with his friends and mine before but I wasn't like close friends or anything. He may have been popular but he had two best friends that he was always with.
Anthony was one of them and the other isn't here. I can't remember his name but I wonder if they lost touch since the disappearance.
Anthony was in my year so it always puzzled me as to why they were so close. I think their parents where friends when they were young or something. They were probably forced to play together or something.
Blake was also in my year but I didn't talk to him much. I didn't recognise Noah so I assume they made friends over the past three years. I don't know Tayler either but I'm glad Bryce found someone who makes him happy.
My relationship with Jaden was a little complicated. We met at a summer camp my parents sent me to one year. I had protested but it ended up being pretty good because I met Jaden there.
He gave me his number which I kept all these years and we kept in touch after and grew pretty close. He lived out in the country and his parents homeschooled him so he didn't have many friends except me and his brother.
I had other friends too, plenty of them, but I didn't have the same bond with any of them as I did with Jaden. When I was with him it was just so much better than being with a bunch of practical strangers that only hung out with me because I was 'popular'.
His parents were pretty strict so he had to sneak out a lot to meet up with me. We'd been doing it for about two years before the world fell apart and I never heard from him again. We got completely cut off from each other.
I lost everything. My parents, my little sister and my best friend. The memories my house gave me became too much so I took all I needed from my house and left. I didn't go back for years and ended up making bad decisions like attending games of 'Burn the Building' but I never once made the decision to join a team. I always had this thought at the back of my mind that I'd find Jaden again one day and we would do it together.
I stopped going to the burn the building games and cut myself of from the idiots of chosen to spend two and a half years with. I'm fairly sure they started a team after I left but they all failed. I stuck with myself for half a year. Doing what I could to make my life better while I searched for Jaden.
That's why I went back to my house. To get his number because I'd previously lost my phone and lost his number with it. It just so happens I went back at the exact right time and met these guys and they brought me Jaden. So now I can finally be happy.
"Josh you're staring." Jaden whispered while nudging me, bringing me back to the present. I looked at him and he was smirking playfully at me. I rolled my eyes and tried to tune into the conversation the rest of the boys were having.
"We've got 7/10 players for our team meaning we need three more to activate it." Tayler was saying.
"Does anyone know anybody else who could be our eight player?" Noah asked.
Bryce fidgeted for a moment and then looked at Anthony. "Well there is someone..." Anthony looked back at Bryce in confusion and then his expression changed to a glare.
"No, absolutely not. I know who you're thinking about and no." Anthony said shaking his head.
"But we don't know anything-" Bryce started protesting but Anthony cut him off.
