??? P.O.V
I woke up slowly and yawned while stretching. I sat up and rubbed my eyes before yanking back my curtains and squinting my eyes at the harsh bright light.

I had a sudden realisation and looked at my phone to see the time. My eyes widened and I almost dropped my phone, having to fumble with it before slamming it onto the small table beside my bed and running to my bathroom to get ready.

I remember turning my alarm off and I must have fallen asleep right after. But that wasn't a problem for me because my mom normally woke me up at the right time anyway. It seems today that she forgot so I was now almost an out late for school.

I brushed my teeth as quick as I could and ditched fixing my hair, choosing to run a hand through it instead, hoping that it looked acceptable.

I ran downstairs and looked around the kitchen for my parents but they weren't in sight.

"Mom?" I called out but I received no answer.

"Dad?" I tried but got no response to that either.

I frowned and ran through the house. First checking their bedroom and then all the rest of the rooms in the house. There was nothing. Their bed didn't even look slept on from when they made it yesterday morning.

I checked the fridge and countertops for a note but there was none. I was confused and a little worried but I decided that they probably went somewhere and forgot to tell me and I would probably see them when I returned.

The only problem left was how I was going to get to school. Normally my parents would drive me but they weren't there. Other than that one of my friends parents would drive me but that was out of the question now since they would all probably be at school. The nearest bus stop was too far in the wrong direction so I gave up on that idea pretty quick.

That meant I had to run. I sighed and grabbed my bag and keys, pulling on my shoes as fast as I could and running out the door.

I ran along my street and immediately something felt off. Our street was normally a relatively quiet place but right now it felt absolutely dead silent. There was nobody out in their gardens or at their windows and it started to give me a crawling feeling of worry.

I was almost at the end of my street when I spotted something. In one of the end gardens was a kid. Not a lot of kids lived on our street and because of that I knew this girl. Her name was Cara. She was about 12 or 13 and she had two little brothers whom I couldn't see. I had babysat her and her brothers a couple times, her parents where really kind hearted people.

I slowed to a jog and walked up to her gate. She looked at me with a slight scared expression.

"Hey Cara where are your parents?" I asked her.

"I-I don't know. I woke up this morning and they weren't there and neither where Danny and Alex." She said rather quickly in a worried tone. Daniel and Alex were the names of her two younger brothers.

I frowned for the third time and thought for a moment. I decided not to tell her that my parents had also not been present when I had awoken and I also did not know where they had gone.

"Hey it's okay I'm sure they're fine." I said as reassuringly as I could, I then opened her gate and extended my hand, "Come with me. I'll take you to school and we can find someone there who can help you."

She nodded slowly and took my hand and we started to walk along the next street.

It was the same as ours. Dead silent. Not a single person in sight and it only got weirder.

We rounded another corner onto another
street on the route to school. This one was the same as the last two. The only difference being a car that was parked in the middle of the road.
