I think we only have five or so chapters before the end. I can't thank you all enough for reading my Luke Hemming fanfic. Every single one of you deserves a hug from mee!!

Something… something on my neck… no matter what I do, I can’t pull it off. The more I move and try to take it off, the more it tightens and the more I can’t breathe nor can gulp the forming lump in my throat. I can feel my eyes start to water and the heat rise up from my back and the air fill up my head.

 

Help! Help! Help! Luke! Luke!

I woke up with a sticking needle to my left arm and three nurses holding me down. One is sticking a syringe to my right arm and whispers to calm me down, telling me I’m fine, I’m okay.

I feel beaded sweat from my forehead roll down my temples. My hair irritably sticking on my bandaged neck.

I flicker my eyes multiple times till the lights are no longer blinding. I tried to push myself up to look around but there’s another strong hand that pushed me back down.

“Honey, honey.” My mum said. “I’m here, baby. You’re okay now.”

The nurse that whispered to me tells something to my mum then she nodded. She went back to me, “Oh my baby, how are you feeling?”

She asked but I just stared at her. My head’s thumping. My arm is getting numb from where the syringe is sticking earlier. My vision is getting dizzy so I took a deep exhale.

She took her hanky and dried up my sweating face. My mum pushed me to my side so I was leaning on my right facing her. She said I should keep it this way or on my left so my wounds at my back would heal easier. I have wounds? Why? Oh, right?

My mum kept on blabbering about how I feel and kept on asking what she could get me so I asked her, “Where’s Luke? Can I see him, mum?”

Just before my mum could answer me, a couple of uniformed men walked in from the door. They looked at me like I’m a dog moaning for a home.

“Can you do this later? She just woke up for god’s sake!” My mum whimpered and she looked so tired of crying, her nose got red so as her cheeks and ears.

“The earlier we talk to her the earlier we could start the investigation ma’am. We already talked to her boyfriend and we’ll have to see if their stories match, or else, he is our first suspect.”

“Wha… what?” I weakly exclaimed trying to sit. My mum tried to make me lie down but I refused to. These assholes better listen to me. “You actually think that Luke could hurt me?”

“There are a lot of crazy things happening nowadays with you, young in love kids.”

As much as I want to curse this twat asshole in front of me, I can’t. I am too weak to even make a coherent statement. But I manage to tell them all that I could remember. I asked for Luke but they said he can’t get in until the questioning is over, so I participated well as much as they want. I need to see Luke, as soon as possible. I need him, right now.

“I took an early outdoor jog…” I told them that, that’s when I encountered two tall guys who were wearing helmets to cover there faces. They practically dragged me into my room where another guy is waiting. My room was a mess like they were looking for something. The other guy held my both hands up above my head and the other’s on my both feet. They stuffed something on my mouth and showed me the blades in their hands. The guy who was waiting removed his helmet and put it on my head. They turned me to the floor so my face was on carpeted floor. They started assaulting my back and then I smelt smoke, cigarette smoke and that’s when I knew I’ll be a bleeding ashtray for them.

But, I didn’t tell him everything. How can I? Those three guys are after Luke, Ashton, Mikey and Calum. Not to mention Mr. Styles. The guy who assaulted me kept on repeating Mr. Styles and other familiar names. He even mentioned Mr. Hemmings. So I really have to talk to Luke first.

“We’ll definitely see each other Ms. Sherman, in case you left out an important detail.”

I stared at the inspector intently as my mum escorted them out the door and sarcastically thanked them. My mum hurriedly hugged me tight when the door opened wide and there was him, his eyes so swollen and bordered with dark circles, his hair so scuffed, his cheeks so pale, and his broad shoulders are slumped down. His breathing so heavy and he stopped himself at once he saw me and mum.

Mum turned at him and they had this knowing look as my mum sniffed again. She said she’s going to look for food and something to drink but I know her too well that she’ll just cry outside.

As soon as the door clicked closed, I almost jump at Luke who’s bending over the hospital bed for me. I winced and groaned when he accidentally touch my fresh covered wounds. But nothing’s safer than him being here with me, than me being in his arms.

“I’m so sorry my baby, I’m so sorry.” He cried to my shoulder and so my tears escaped my eyes.

When we were both calm, I pulled out of our hug and lied down to my side. He pulled out a chair so he was still facing me, his two huge hands holding mine.

I just looked at him, admiring how much his beautiful face had changed because of stressing himself over me. I didn’t have to ask when he started his shortened story of those who did this to me. He said that the other lads are already plotting to end all of this. He didn’t stop apologizing so I cupped his cheek and pressed the warmest kiss I could ever give him at my weakest.

Just before our lips part, the door opened and a doctor came in apologizing for his interruption. Mum followed behind him so Luke stood as the doctor explains few post-trauma sessions I have to undergo because of this unlikely incident. He said that it will be helpful if people closest to me could come with me so that I would recover quickly.

Of course I think that I don’t need all of those psychology treatment but the shaking feeling inside me and my trembling hands are enough reason for me to go and follow the doctor’s advices.
