"YOU TOLD CEDRIC WHAT?" Marina Dobbs covered her mouth and gasped. They had just gotten on the train to Hogwarts and everyone had much catching up to do after their few months apart over the summer. A lot had happened in the time they were all apart.

"I just told him I didn't want a relationship. I've got too much to worry about, being Cedric Diggory's girlfriend can't be one of them." Rory answered simply.

"I can't believe you rejected Cedric Diggory!" Marina laughed, "I would love to get to do that!"

Rory raised an eyebrow, "You want to reject Cedric?"

"You've got to be pretty powerful to reject the hottest guy at Hogwarts." She answered.

Rory shrugged, "I mean... I wasn't necessarily cheerful about the whole thing. It was quite hard for me actually and —"

"Can we change the subject please." George rolled his eyes. "Can we discuss the fact that we're going to get a new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor again!"

"I don't want to talk about that." Rory said sharply. Their last teacher, Remus Lupin, had grown very close to Rory and was almost like a father figure to her since she lacked one elsewhere. He would always check in on her and they'd occasionally have tea in his office. Through his guidance, Rory was able to produce a Patronus and get extra credit on her O.W.Ls. Although it was an incorporeal one, she was able to get an 'Outstanding' anyways.

She had gotten six O.W.Ls (which she couldn't really be pleased about in front of the twins) in Defense Against The Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, Muggle Studies, History of Magic, and Herbology, however she failed Potions. She didn't want to be an Auror and working for the Ministry seemed terribly boring. Being a Professor always interested Rory but she wasn't sure if it was practical enough. She still had time to figure it out though... well not really.

"C'mon, Ror," Fred smiled, "Maybe this new teacher will adopt you, too!"

Rory rolled her eyes, "Lupin did not — whatever. I'm going to go to the toilet, I'll be back soon."

Rory got up and left the compartment. As she walked down the thin corridor between the compartments, she saw someone step in front of her nearly making her trip.

"Oh sorry —" A voice said, the person turned around and both of their demeanors changed significantly. "Rory, hey."

"Oh, hey... Cedric." Rory smiled nervously. "Nice to see you again!"

"You too," He said, "Glad to see you're safe after the..."

Rory nodded quickly, hoping he wouldn't talk about it any more. "You too."

There was an awkward pause between the two of them. Rory didn't know what else to say to him. Her head was empty. She wanted to say how sorry she was and she hoped that he wasn't hurt. She was just doing what she thought was best for you.
