Pro 1: When there's a possibility she might be attracted to you

Quinn's point of view

I was currently in Paige's living room waiting out the rain, which seemed to only be getting worse. Zoe's head was on my lap and she was scrolling through the TV channels but I wasn't really paying attention. Every now and then Paige would glance over to us and when I tried to make eye contact, she would quickly look away and busy herself with whatever she was cooking in the kitchen. My heart skipped a beat every.single.time. I felt like a fucking 12-year-old boy.

"Do you guys want pancakes?" Page asked, placing a plate stacked with the most delicious smelling pancakes I'd ever seen in front of us. How did she do that? Just a while ago she could barely stay awake in my car and now here she was cooking up a storm. Was it just me who was really boring and had bored her to sleep or was she just amazing like that and could function with little to no sleep.

"Sis, you really do know the way to my heart!" Zoe said, immediately getting up. I could tell Paige felt awkward as she tucked her short hair behind her ear and went back to the kitchen. Whenever she was near me I had this aching feeling in my guts, it was driving me insane.

Zoe suggested we go eat upstairs and I didn't argue, it was her place after all. However, I felt the need to explain to Paige that we were going upstairs to just eat and nothing more. I didn't want her to get the wrong idea – for whatever reason.

"These are seriously the best tasting things I've ever had in my mouth" Zoe said, clearly having a food-gasm. I didn't like eating in bed, I don't know how people could do that. Didn't the crumbs bother them later?

"They are pretty good" I said agreeing. Even if the pancakes tasted like shit I probably still would've enjoyed them. I had finally come to accept that I had a full-blown crush on Zoe's sister, and it wasn't going anywhere.

"Is your sister seeing anyone?" I casually asked, trying to make it sound like an everyday type of question.

Of course she started choking and laughing – choke laughing? – on her pancakes and I waited for her to calm down.

"WTF Quinn, are you actually being for real" She asked.

"Meaning?"

"You're borderline creepily into my sister"

I just shrugged.

"You could literally bang any girl at uni – if you haven't already..." Zoe said and I glared at her.

"Just saying" she continued.

"Okay I fancy your sister so what" I admitted it. It felt weird saying it out loud, felt more real if that makes any sense.

"So get over it we already discussed the gazillion reas-" Zoe started but was interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Sorry to disturb you guys, but Quinn, it seems the storm is only getting worse. I'm afraid you might have to spend the night..." Paige said, poking her head through the door.

"No problem" I said.

She seemed to be thinking for a while but I guess she decided against what she was going to say and just flashed us an awkward smile and closed the door.

"Just so you know. I am done hooking up with you" Zoe said casually as she continued to munch away at the pancakes.

"Why?" To be honest it had been a long time coming but asking her why was the appropriate thing to do. She was after all a really good friend - perhaps even one of my closest friends.

Zoe sighed then.

"I feel like I'm being unfair to the potential relationship you might have with my sister" she said finally.

Wait, what?

"So you think there's a possibility she could be into me as well?" I asked, masking my excitement.

"Please, lets not get carried away here" Zoe said, laughing at me.

"I'm just saying that I am a distraction getting in the way of you pursuing my sister and possibly of her even noticing you" Touché.

"You know, to be honest I don't even know how to get her to notice me" Zoe laughed at me, again. There goes that for me trying to be sincere.

"Quinn do you even hear yourself? You're the star of the nations varsity basketball team. You've dated celebrities, influencers and everything in between" She had a point.

All of this talk was making my head ache. I was starting to feel overwhelmed.

"So where am I sleeping then since you've demoted me to being just friends?" I quickly changed the topic.

"On the couch buddy" Zoe said smugly. There was no way my 6'3 frame was going to fit on their couch.

Hiii for anyone reading this, I'm a little bit torn with this story. I really have so much planned for these characters but I'm not sure if the story is being well received.

Please comment your thoughts - positive or negative - all feedback is welcome. Also vote if you enjoy reading, it really encourages me. I will pause the story for now till I figure out if its worth continuing.

Love always
