Puente Antiguo - BarThor, Triston & Erik sat at a booth at the back of the local dive. The bartender sat down three mugs of beer and three shots of whiskey. Erik poured a shot into his mugs and downed it. Thor & Triston hesitantly followed his example. "Seems Darcy's a terrible intern, but a talented hacker," Erik said.
"What a brilliant laddie," Triston said.
"Thank you for what you've done, for both of us," Thor said to Erik.
"Don't thank me. I only did it for Jane," Erik said as Triston eyed him.
"Are you in love with her?" Triston asked as Thor suddenly got nervous for Erik's answer.
"Of course not!" Erik spat, and Thor sighed in relief. "Jane's like a daughter to me. Her father and I taught at University together. A good man, but he never listened."
Triston formed a smile, as Jane's father reminded him of Thor. "Neither do I," Thor said, and Triston's smile grew. Erik eyed the two with interest.
"I don't know if you're really delusional, and I really don't care. I just care about her. I've seen the way she looks at you," Erik said to Thor, which caused Thor to smile.
"I swear to you, I mean her no harm," Thor said.
"Neither do I," Triston said.
"Good. If that's the case, then I'll buy you one more drink, and you'll leave town tonight," Erik said and the men nodded.
Then they both took a drink from their mugs. "I had it all backwards. I had it all wrong," Thor said as Erik watched him keenly.
As did Triston. This was a different side of his father that he had never seen before. "It's not a bad thing, finding out that you don't have all the answers. That's when you start asking the right questions," Erik said as Thor & Triston took this in.
"For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do," Thor said.
"Anyone who's ever going to find their way in this world has to start by admitting they don't know where they hell they are," Erik said and Thor nodded.
"Hey, I know you, man." Thor, Triston & Erik turned to face an intimidated drunk townie trying to size up Thor & Triston. He approached, belligerent and looking for a fight. "You were in the diner with that hot girl," he said and both Thor & Triston didn't like where this was going. "I wouldn't mind her doing a little research on me."
Thor looked annoyed as Triston looked repulsed. "What a sick man," Triston muttered.
"I have no quarrel with you. But she's a lady. You should be more respectful," Thor said.
"And you should shut the hell up, Princess," the drunk townie said and Triston went white, knowing what was probably coming next.
"Damn," Triston muttered before he looked at his father, but to his surprise, Thor remained unaffected by the Townie's baiting.
"I will not fight him," Thor said.
"Then it'll be easy to kick your ass," the drunk townie said but then Triston stood up, and stepped between the two men.
"Please. Let's keep our heads," Triston said, before he smiled at his father. Thor smiled back, giving him a thumbs up.
Then Triston turned to the Townie and head-butt him, knocking him out. "That's my boy!" Thor exclaimed, impressed. Erik then downed his drink, then hurled his glass aside, shattering it on the ground.
