Sorry this is so long. I love this ship.

Deep within Thomas's mind, past the library of his memories, the countless filing cabinets of information, the catacombs of thirty years of thoughts, sat the mindpalace. It served as the home for all the aspects of Thomas's being. Not only his Sides, but his ideas, his characters and even some of his dreams. Anything thought of or apart of Thomas that could talk, called the mindpalace home.
Of course, it was mainly his Sides that ran the place.
The Sides mainly kept to themselves and stayed in the conscious corner of their host's mind. They molded it to how they felt and made it their own. They could make it look however they wanted and they could even change the overall all vibe or feelings it gave off.
Thomas played a part in this too. Wherever he lived was usually the place that the mindpalace took the form of. The emotions he felt became the emotions of the mindpalace.
Which was why Roman was understandably confused when the mindpalace felt so depressed, yet Thomas was happier than he had been in months. There was no reason for his mind to be this dark.
The creative trait started to pace around the mind's living room. It was cold, despite the Florida summer heat, and dark. Darker than normal, at least. Physically darker, not just the emotionally oppressiveness that it usually had when Thomas was upset. Meaning, it wasn't Thomas that was the problem.
It had to be another Side.
Roman thought for a moment. Despite... everything that had happened in the past week, he felt perfectly fine. Yeah, he was still a little angry over the words that were thrown his way, but he had gotten over it. He was Prince Roman! Not an emotional baby that got hurt over one little phrase!
But what about Patton? He was Thomas's heart, the center of his emotions. If he was upset, he would have this strong of an affect on the mindpalace. But, that just didn't make sense. He did hide his emotions a lot, but never ones this strong. Roman would know if it was him. Plus, Patton was with him right now. There was no way he could be upset over that.
Logan was just out of the question. He's a robot. He doesn't have this strong of feelings. Sure, he might actually have some, but they are definitely not strong enough to affect the whole mindpalace.
Which left only Virgil.
Roman nodded to himself and quickly went up the stairs two at a time. Of course it was Virgil. He was anxiety. He was always this dark. He was the source of Thomas's worst emotions. If the mindpalace felt this bad, Virgil was the one causing it.
The Prince slowed down once he reached the purple door on the left. Virgil's door. He knew he needed to talk with the anxious trait. If he was upset, he needed to talk it out with someone, not just sulk in his room. Roman was tired of feeling so blue. He was red! He was passion and love! He wasn't sadness and melancholy. That was Virgil.
He gingerly knocked on the poster covered door. "Virge?" Roman asked carefully, feeling more and more anxious the longer he stayed there. "May I enter?"
A exasperated grunt could be heard from inside the room and Roman took it as a yes. He opened the door dramatically, planning to make a Disney reference about how sulking in isolation solves nothing, and was hit with the overwhelming feeling of distress. It was almost unbearable.
