"Can we not go straight home?" I ask a little timidly once we're in the car.
"Of course but why?" Luke asks and something flashes in his eyes.
"I just finally got a break from the boys since mum and dad left. They come back soon too and I just wanna hang out with you by myself for a bit," I mumble and Luke grins at me.
"We never get to do that, I'd love to! How about we go hangout at the Port for a bit?" Luke asks referring to Port Jackson and I nod at him smiling, not just a small twist of my lips but my full smile, and he looks phased for a second. "You should smile like that more often."
I blush at that remark before nodding shyly. I finally get to hangout with Luke by myself for longer than 5 minutes, without Aleisha or Ali or the boys. Not that they aren't great but I feel like they try to keep us away from each other like somethings gonna happen.
"So Ash huh?" Luke asks, his eyes holding a flicker of emotion that I couldn't decipher before it was gone.
"He's like an older brother," I explain. "It's nice to have someone act like an older brother other than Calum and Mikey."
"What about me?" Luke asks, pouting.
"I don't consider you a brother because your more special," I mumble hoping he wouldn't hear my explanation but he did.
"What do you mean?" he asks curiously and I shrug.
"Forget I said anything, I might tell you one day," I say.
"What did you mean I'm more special?" he pushes and I just ignore him, looking out the window. "Anna?"
"I wasn't supposed to say that, just don't ask. I might tell you eventually," I reply and Luke shrugged, dropping it. It took twenty minutes but we finally arrived at the Port and Luke drove us to an empty looking carpark facing the harbour. We both got out and sat on the hood of Lukes car.
"What happened between you and Aleisha earlier?" I asked before realizing what I said. "Oh my god sorry, it's really none of my business, don't answer that."
"No it's ok, Aleisha and I had a few differences earlier this afternoon before we went to dinner. But we figured it out. But then she got pissed at me at dinner and I have no idea why," Luke explains and I felt bad for him. I began tossing rocks as far as I could.
"What differences? If you don't mind me prying?"
"Well as you know, I'm leaving soon to go on tour. She's not dealing with it well and she also brought up the fact that she thinks I don't love her," Luke explains and I frown.
"Well you do, don't you?" I ask and Luke shrugs.
"I don't know if I loved her in the right way all along," Luke explains and I look at him confused before staring at the harbour again.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't think I loved her as a boyfriend from the beginning," he whispered and I looked at his broken features.
"Go on tour, figure it out on the road. Don't overthink it, remember that if you aren't happy in the relationship then you shouldn't stay in it. Even if it hurts someone you love."
"Is it bad that it's not Aleisha that I don't want to leave behind?"
"What do you mean?"
"I think I have feelings for someone else and I don't want to leave them behind," Luke replies softly and my heart sinks. Here I thought that maybe Luke and Aleisha wouldn't work out and maybe I'd get my chance but he already likes someone else.
"I don't think it's fair for Aleisha to be led on," I reply softly as I look at him. We suddenly just stop everything. I stop throwing rocks into the air and he stops fiddling with his hands. We just look at each other in the eye. We slowly lean in and just before our lips touch I realize how wrong it is.
"Luke, no," I say, pushing his chest back. "You have a girlfriend and I will not help you cheat on her."
"You're right, I'm so sorry, I just got caught in the moment," Luke explains and I nod my head understanding, because for a moment there I did too.
"Can we go to macca's for icecream?" I ask and Luke grins at me.
"Of course, McFlurrys all the way," he says fist pumping before we get off the hood of the car and he opens my door for me.
"Thanks," I mumble and he nods before getting into the other side and we head to the main drag to chase a McDonalds outlet. Luke quickly turns on some music and I recognise his voice. Its just his voice and none of the other boys, just Luke and his guitar. I listen and realize it's his cover of You Found Me by The Fray.
"I love your cover of this song," I say blushing slightly as I realize how I sounded. Suddenly the music stops and instead Luke starts singing himself.
"I found God on the corner of first and Amistad, Where the West was all but one..." he sang. I almost cried at his voice. By the time he finished the song, we were at macca's. We decided to head into the actual store rather than go through the drive-thru. When we got into the store I decided to take off my heels, that were hurting my feet. Luke quickly gave me the keys and I popped them back into the car as he placed our orders. When I finished I quickly ran back inside.
"What did you get me?" I asked curiously and Luke smirked.
"It's a surprise."
Great, I absolutely love surprises. They are absolutely wonderful. I mean who doesn't love them? You get told about them and then your anticipating them. Waiting, waiting, waiting until your surprised and then somedays you get the wrong surprise. Who wouldn't love that?
"309?" an employee asks and Luke walks to the counter. He grabs our icecreams and a paper bag before taking them to a seat. I follow and sit down opposite him. He hands me am MnM McFlurry and I smile greatfully. I was just about to start eating when he nudges the paper bag towards me and I open it carefully. Inside was a packet of chips. I grin at him, realizing he remembers my weird fetish with dipping Maccas chips into icecream.
"I still think it's weird but I wanted to try it," Luke says and I offer him a chip. He takes one and dips it into his own McFlurry and I watch as he eats it. "It's alright."
"I love it," I say as I dip another chip in and we eat the rest of the chips and our McFlurry's before I decide that I should probably go home to relieve Kane of babysitting duties. I ask Luke if he could take me home and we head out to his car.
"Who's that Kane bloke?" Luke asks as he pulls out of the car park.
"He's just a family friend I've known a long time, he's like a brother," I explain and Luke nods as he drives us home. When we get there I kiss his cheek before picking up my clutch and heels and leaving the car.
**A/N it's shorter yes, but that's all for tonight. I'm going to a Perth 5SOS family meetup tomorrow and I need some sleep. I'll see you on the flip side ~Anna xx **
