I spent the rest of the late morning curled up with the ancient tome Tom had found in the city archives. I lapped up everything I could find on the history of witchcraft, famous magical families in the area, etc. Nothing I read, however, was as interesting to me as the prophecy written on the first page. I didn't know why, but I had a strong urge to stare at it for hours on end. Something more pressing was on my mind, though. "Tom?" I called out into the empty library. With a popping noise, he appeared beside me on the leather couch.

"Ah, find anything interesting?" He asked, gesturing to the book.

"Yeah," I replied, "but I had something to ask you." I closed the book gently and put it on the coffee table.

"Shoot," he told me, propping his feet up on the table.

"Can we tell Sam, Harry, and Paddy about the whole Apathy thing? I think they deserve to know. And now that they believe me, it will seem less...out there." Tom blinked in response and I waited an agonizing few seconds while he decided what to say.

"You're right. They deserve to know about everything. But I'm worried they will resent me," he said finally. I wished I had the ability to wrap him in a hug. Truth be told, it was something I'd thought about for a while.

"How could they resent you, Tom? You're their brother. They love you. And besides...it might be impossible to protect them if they don't know what they're up against."

"Yeah..." Tom stood up. He looked at me for a while, which I didn't mind at all, but it had been happening a lot recently. He would just look at me funy for seconds on end with no apparent explanation. "Hey, please don't let my parents know about any of this until, you know, you absolutely have to. They'll oust you immediately and I'd hate..." he trailed off. I smiled knowingly.

"Don't worry, I won't. But for now, let's get the boys in here. We've got something to tell them," I said heavily.

A/N: AaAh...soo sorry this one was so short. I literally have such bad writer's block, like...I've been working on this tiny little thing for maybe three days and I can't even. Like...help?
