Only the occasional sound of a lightbulb flickering could be heard.
Like in a waiting room of a hospital everyone sat with naïve hope and trepidation dancing about in the air to the sound of our silence.
Some sprawled out on the floor, others lumped themselves together on Taehyungs bed. I had no clue what ran through their minds, the only thing certain is that everyone's looking at the door.
Till finally, it creaked open.
"(Y/n)?"
Hannah's aunt stood at the doorway, she shut the door and slowly made her way towards me, a serious look on her face and a small bag in her hand after locking the door.
I moved to sit up to which she quickly prevented me from doing so and instead handed me the bag.
The other 6 pairs of eyes curiously watched us as I opened the bag, I slowly brought out each item.
Vitamins?
And more vitamins?
Chicken essence?
.....and a book on childcare? What is she insinuating here?
"I heard about the baby," she gestured to my stomach.
BABY?
Only baby that I've ever had is a food baby!
Before I could protest she silenced me with a finger to my lips.
"Don't stress too much about it. You need to relax for both your health and the baby. I've already found a key witness and irrefutable evidence to back up Jungkook's statement and get you out of here. I didn't marry nor have children, it was my choice but sometimes I can't help but feel a little sadness as I watch my friends children grow up. I see we've taken very different paths in life-"
"Ms. Liu, I'm not pregnant," I interjected, placing all the items back into the bag.
Where on Earth did she get this idea from?
She blanked "wait you're not?"
I shook my head.
She blinks a few times, looking at the items in my hand and then at the door before muttering something under her breath. Facing me with a polite smile she says "I'm sorry, one of my sub-ordinates said that you were pregnant and having morning sickness of some sort?"
My gaze drifts slightly towards the orange haired man and the shortest one both pointing their fingers at Jungkook.
I should probably learn their names.
"Ms.Liu, I think there's a misunderstanding. My stomach was a little upset and I did feel queasy. Your sub-ordinate must've come in while I was in the bathroom and they must've mistakenly said something incorrect, a small language mix-up,"
She nodded, "ah well, it's okay. You can keep those anyhow," she gestured at the bag "anyways, it'll probably be only another day or less till you get out of here,"
Her smile is encouraging, but if we're 'released from prison' per se, does that mean Taehyung and I won't see each other again?
Yeah, he probably has his own life and stuff to do and Jin to worry about. I've grown a little used to him being around, I might miss him a little.
"Thanks,"
She bids me farewell and heads for the door.
"Actually, uhm ...is it alright if I have a word with you in private?"
Halting in her steps she nods, flicking her head in the direction of the bathroom she makes her way there, I trail behind her and shut the door.
She turns around with a smile on her face.
