"Here! In this room," I led the staff to the door, falling onto my butt as I did, exhaustion burning my muscles.
I'd ran to and from from Hannah's aunts office and back, if Noah's hunch on it being and inside job is right, then I don't trust anyone except the people who Hannah's aunt knows, she gathered them up and asked them to follow me.
Splaying myself out by the entrance I kick the door closed. Adrenaline from the run coursing through me, a painful reminder that I ran alone.
I'm going to be next ...aren't I?
My hands fish out the note from my shirt pocket, this is definitely the same guy who brought Jin to us, and it's not the killer.
But who? And why? And how did he know exactly where we were?
The staff who Hannah's aunt selected were five huge burly people, men and women both, one of them being an ex-weightlifter, managed to gather the three spies, restraining them with zip-ties. Dragging myself up, I make my way towards the bed, the staff and perpetrators shuffling past me.
"Is he okay?" I managed out, Taehyung is still unconscious on the bed, one of them stitching his neck while another kept his fingers on Taehyungs wrist.
The one with his fingers on Taehyungs pulse point politely smiled my way "the cut on his neck was not deep thankfully, the stitches can come out in 4 days, the swelling on his cheek will go down with some ice or a cool cloth as you have done, we've inspected the rest of his body nothing more than a few bruises and minor cuts"
That's somewhat relieving.
"Why is he still unconscious?"
Did he lose too much blood? Is he in shock? Fatigue?
"Ah," he whips out a small little glass container from his pocket "they left this behind. It's midazolam, a powerful sedative, that's what they must've injected into him, he'll be out cold for the next hour to the next six hours,"
Jungkook hobbled his way to me, just nows fight obviously having worn him down "Hyung is ...okay?"
I nodded and he sighed as if I just told him his child would live, his knees givig out from relief.
"Keep him hydrated and constantly check the injection site, it could swell or redden or in the worst case a blood clot could form,"
I nodded along to whatever he said as I knelt down beside Jungkook, ingraining it into my brain. My brain was never capable of paying attention in class but right now it's absorbing everything like a sponge.
"Also, since we don't know of his medical history it would be a good idea to have someone constantly beside him to monitor his breathing, alert us immediately if his breaths get shallower,"
"Alright, thank you,"
Jungkook stood up in a flash, bowing a full 90⁰ degrees at the two medics, earnestly thanking them a dozen times over.
The two of them bid us farewell, heading to the door. Noah listened to everything from the floor, his uniform all crumpled and unkempt.
"Noah, we'll talk more tomorrow, you should leave with them," I gestured to the medical staff, with a nod he stood up following them out.
"Hyung is okay?" Jungkook asked again, worried eyes sweeping over Taehyungs still body.
I nodded again, both of us nearing Taehyung "the bad guys gave him sleepy medicine,"
"Seu-leepy medicine?" He parroted, laying down beside Taehyung.
"He will wake up, don't worry," I assured, dragging a chair to sit by them, watching Taehyungs chest rise and fall steadily with eagle eyes.
