"What heart?"
Nobodies POV
Star's face was flushed as she returns to the party. But as she sees the dancing bodies of her friends she decides not to think about Sirius admission, he would let it go.
He just isn't use to rejection. And Star was probably the first girl to turn him down.
Star joins her friends and she laughs and begging dancing along with James as he does a horrible impression of a robot.
Star was so into the dance that she didn't notice Sirius walking up to the DJ and requesting a song change.
Sirius had to turn it up a notch.
Soon the music slows. Star was a bit confused. This wasn't exactly the right setting for a slow song.
But soon couples begin pairing up.
Sirius pulls her over to dance with him. Grabbing her by the waist.
"Let go of me or I will bite you." Star says, a glare firm on her face. "Oh come on. I'm the one that hates slow dances." Sirius says
Star rolls her eyes.
"Yeah, and I see why." Star says harshly, "Hm." Sirius says, amused.
Across the room, Remus was at the punch bowl when he sees the two, his heart dropping.
But he shakes his head, Star was with Bellatrix. She would never cheat.
But Remus could see the look on Sirius's face. He felt the same way he did with Star.
And he knew Sirius usually got what he wanted. Bellatrix may be her girlfriend but Sirius was persistent and a charmer.
He could have Star.
No! I'm not about to let Sirius get the girl. Remus never got the girl. He may be very attractive but he never let himself be with a girl due to his affliction.
But Star was different, she didn't see him for this Werewolf side. She saw him for him. For Remus Lupin.
Star and Sirius are still dancing.
"So you and Bellatrix, you guys are going steady, from what I heard, your not that type of girl." Sirius says, whispering it into her ear.
Star rolls her eyes. "Neither are you, Sirius Black. I mean I see you snogging a new girl every week." Star snarks
"What? Jealous?" Sirius teases
"You think this is me jealous? Why and the hell would I be jealous of those girls, you are nothing to me." Star growls
"So this...us. You feel nothing?" Sirius ask, not letting her words hurt him. "I feel nothing." Star breaths into his ear, causing chills to appear down his spine.
"I don't believe you." Sirius says "I don't care." Star says
"So you don't feel anything when we dance? When my hand would touch your waist?" Sirius whispers
Sirius rests his hand on her waist. Star's expression doesn't change. "Nope." Star says
"Hm. How about this? When our fingers would touch?" Sirius ask
He entwines his fingers into hers. Star's face is blank. "Nothing." Star says
"And this?" Sirius ask
Sirius dips her down and holds her there a moment. "Does your heart really refuse to feel anything towards me?" Sirius ask
He pulls her back up. Star leans in closer to his face and breathes her words onto his mouth.
"What heart?" Star ask
She lets the words stand there for a moment before pulling away and leaving. Across the room, Remus watches and looks none too happy.
....
Sirius was leaning against the hall way wall. Trying not to let his emotions get the best of him.
It was affecting him more. But he wasn't giving up because his feelings were hurt. He can't give up.
Even if he couldn't get the girl. She wasn't safe, she was in actual danger and he can't say anything without risking her life.
