(Season 3)
Life was good, Barry’s parents were still alive and safe so no flashpoint in this timeline, Savitar was almost a non issue as Wally was not power hungry and was confident in himself even without powers so Savitar was never really released and when they dealt with alchemy they got rid of the Philosophers stone by burying it on Lian Yu. Barry, Caitlin and Kara were currently at Barry’s parents’ house for a BBQ lunch, Henry was manning the grill having shot down Barry’s offer of help and Caitlin and Kara had ganged up on Nora telling her that she deserved a rest and that they would see to the sides and salad.
Nora made her way to where Barry was sat and sat down in the chair beside him, “those are two wonderful women Barry, it may take me some more time to get used to your relationship but the love you 3 share is clear to see” Nora said to Barry, he smiled and said, “I can hardly believe it myself mum, when I fell in love with Cait I didn’t think that I’d be able to love anyone as much as I loved her, but then along came Kara and it’s hard to explain…….they are completely different but also so much alike and the love I feel toward them both is like nothing I’ve ever felt, they can brighten up my darkest days with just a smile and they make me so incredibly happy and I’d like to say I do the same for them.”
Nora just smiled at her son, “Just look at them Barry, they look pretty happy to me,……..” Barry looked towards where Cait, Kara and Henry were laughing and joking while tending to the grill and sides, “…..call it woman’s intuition but it’s clear that you mean a lot to them as they do to you, and they look like women who are happy in life.”
Barry took another glance at Caitlin and Kara both of whom were smiling and grinning at something Henry said and in that moment he knew that the decision he came to a few days ago was definitely the right one and one he was going to put into action as soon as he could.
Barry turned back to face Nora, “There’s actually something I wanted to talk to you and Dad about.” Nora gazed at her son questioningly “What is it Barry?” He smiled and looked towards Caitlin and Kara, “I’m going to ask them to marry me.” Nora followed her son’s gaze and smiled, “well well, my little boy’s all grown up. I’m happy for you and I’m sure you father will be as well when you tell him, but how are you going to marry them both?”
Barry turns to look at his mum “ I couldn’t possibly marry one and not the other, so I have given this a lot of thought, assuming they both say yes we will have two small weddings, only close friends and family, one on this Earth for Cait and I followed by a small dinner at our apartment, and another wedding on Earth 38 the next day for Kara and I, followed by a small dinner at Kara’s adoptive family house. I’ve spoken to Cait’s parents, they are not aware of our unique relationship and have given their permission to marry Cait. I’ve also spoken to Kara’s cousin and adoptive parents, they know about our relationship and are not fully comfortable with it but they trust Kara’s judgment and gave their blessings though somewhat reluctantly.”
Nora could see that Barry had given this quite a bit of thought “well Barry, I’m happy for you…..and you don’t have to worry, I’m pretty sure those girls will say yes without hesitation.” She said offering a smile before continuing “when are you going to ask them?” “Tomorrow morning“ Barry replied, Nora got up with a smile “well let me distract my soon to be daughters while you tell your father the good news” she said walking towards the two women who would soon become her daughters-in-law. Barry got up as well to tell his dad the news, who received it as well as his mum did. The rest of the day went by in a rush of food and drinks and by the time our trio got back to their shared apartment they could barely contain themselves anymore rushing straight to their bedroom discarding clothes as they went.
Next morning being a Sunday there was no need for them to wake up early unless there was a meta attack, thankfully they were lucky and no attack took place, Barry was the first to wake up, careful not to disturb his sleeping girlfriends he slowly made his way to the kitchen in just his boxers to start with breakfast, he would be making them their favorite pancakes, chocolate chip for Cait and blueberry for Kara. He had just about finished the pancakes and coffee that Cait and Kara emerged from their bedroom, both wearing nothing but one of his old small shirts each, the top few buttons undone and the bottom of the shirt just about covering their butts, clearly done in order to tease him, but he would resist, there’d be plenty of time for that later, if all went as well as he hoped it would.
He walked up to them and greeted them with a kiss each, mindful not to get carried away. He then led them to their outdoor dining area on the balcony, getting them seated before rushing back to get their breakfast and coffees. Caitlin and Kara looked appreciatively at their breakfast’s before Caitlin asked “My, my Mr. Allen, both of our favorites? Are we celebrating something?” Kara smiled and chipped in “it does seem a little strange, last time you cooked our favorites was on our respective birthdays.”
Barry thought quickly and replied “is it a crime to do something nice for my amazing girlfriends?“ Both women looked at him with a look that said that they clearly weren’t believing him. He thought to himself that no point waiting till after breakfast anyway so he stood and taking their hand made them stand as well, “I admit that I had an ulterior motive for cooking your favorites.” Caitlin cut him off “after last night Barry what other ulterior motives could you have?” she said with a smirk causing Kara to giggle. Barry never one to back down meets her smirk and answers with one of his own “well Dr. Snow, as incredible as last night was it was just one night, my ulterior motive…..” he raced off to STAR labs vault where he had hidden the rings in a lead lined safe, and rushed back appearing in front of them with two ring boxes and on bended knee all within 3 seconds, “……is the rest of our lives…..” he says while opening the boxes looking at them with hopeful eyes “……..if you both would make me the happiest man alive by agreeing to become Dr. Caitlin Allen and Mrs. Kara Allen.”
Both ladies were captivated by the beauty of the rings, personalized for each of them, Caitlin’s was a snowflake shaped diamond while Kara’s was an upside down triangle, a clear outline of the coat of arms of the House of El, the bands of both rings were a gold lightning bolt connecting from one side of the ring to the other. Both women looked at each other and then at Barry, both unable to stop their eyes from watering, Caitlin nodded to Kara who then spoke, “we have something to confess Baary…..” she paused and glanced at Caitlin to continue. Caitlin bent down to Barry’s level prompting Kara to do the same before continuing what Kara had started with, “we sorta knew that you were going to propose today.” The ladies smiled at the shocked look on their boyfriend’s face, clearly he thought that he had hidden it well, “How?” Barry asked. “I overheard you telling Nora yesterday, sorry, I couldn’t help it, blame the super hearing for spoiling the surprise” Kara said with a small grin, Caitlin spoke with the biggest smile he had ever seen on her “but Nora was right Barry, of course we say yes, without any hesitation.”
Barry looked at both women before asking “you will?” “Yes” they replied in unison, smiles plastered on their faces and eyes shining with unshed tears. Barry pulled them both into a hug before kissing them both and sliding the rings on their respective fingers, breakfast forgotten the three of them returned to their bedroom to celebrate, not to be heard from for the rest of the afternoon.
Lying on their bed in a mess of entangled limbs, satisfied and basking in their post orgasmic bliss, Barry reached over to the nightstand for his phone and dialed his parents’ house, putting the phone on speaker, Caitlin and Kara both snuggling up to him listening to the phone ringing before it was answered by Nora, “Hello Barry, I was expecting your call in the morning, or did it not go well?” she asked with a bit of sadness in her voice. “No mum, it went well, I meant to call earlier it just slipped my mind.” Barry replied. Caitlin gave Barry a mischievous smirk and chimed in “I believe we are responsible for Barry forgetting to call earlier, Nora.” “Sorry Nora” Kara added from Barry’s other side.
Nora chuckled “I assumed as much, I told Barry yesterday that you girls would say yes and by the way I believe that you girls should get into the habit of calling me mum, none of this first name nonsense.” Caitlin, Kara and Barry all smile, while Nora continues “I expect the three of you to come over for dinner tonight, non negotiable, I’m cooking and we’re celebrating”. The trio just smiled and Caitlin said with a twinkle in her eye and a huge smile “we would never turn down an invitation from you mum.” Kara smiling as well chimed in with “see you soon mum.” Barry was rolling his eyes in mock exasperation and grinning widely. Nora just chuckled lightly before ending the call.
Two hours later, our trio arrived at Henry and Nora’s house, and were met with a warm welcome and a lot of congratulations, dinner went smoothly, with Nora and Henry fawning over their soon to be daughters, our trio were also peppered with questions about the future, like living arrangements, kids etc normal stuff parents tend to ask. The trio had not discussed any of this yet and had no idea what to answer, however they were saved from answering when the trios cell alerts started going off that the satellite was picking up something strange.
The trio apologized stating that they had to run as it was an emergency and raced to STAR labs to find out from Cisco that aliens were attacking the city, of course they started reaching out to all their superhero/vigilante friends as they needed all the help they could get.
Most of the Dominators storyline was the same as pre-crisis timeline up until the part after the team stopped Barry from giving himself up to the dominators. Having stopped Barry from giving himself up to the dominators they had to come up with a plan, and while the “Geek Squad” dubbed by Captain Cold worked on a device that would cause unbearable pain to the dominator when planted on them, Barry led the others to an empty hangar that belonged to star labs, in the hangar Barry had set up a huge round table surrounded by chairs. As Barry explained his vision the other heroes could see the benefit of such an alliance in case of other world/universe/multiverse threatening situations arose, Barry explained that each member would have an interdimensional extrapolator just in case and that this hangar would be their home base of operations, the others agreed and so the Justice League was born, the Original members were The Flash taking a seat at the table, Frost on his right, Supergirl on his left, Batman, Superman, Arrow, Martian Manhunter, White Canary, Black Canary, Vibe and Captain Cold. Barry explained that there were always seats available for expansion so that the Justice League need never end.
The device prepared, dominators defeated and other heroes returned to their respective cities/Earths. Our trio made their way back to their apartment. Tired but happy that they had managed to save the world with minimal casualties. Our trio sat on their couch, a movie playing on the tv, 7 pizzas in front of them and 3 bottles of wine. Diner consumed the trio just sat cuddled on the couch when Barry spoke, “we should probably talk about the questions mum asked us today.” Kara told him that she had overheard his plans for the weddings and had told Caitlin about them and bout women had agreed that that was the best way to get it done, then came the question of where they would live after the weddings, all three liked their current apartment, however they were practical and admitted that there was hardly any excess place in case they had visitors or for when they had children, so they decided to buy a mansion in the city relatively close to Barry’s parents’ home. That decided they agreed to start searching by next week. Barry looked to both of the women snuggled up to him before asking “so….kids?” Caitlin was the first to answer “I’ve always wanted kids.” “Same” said Kara, both of them looking expectantly for Barry to answer, “I definitely want to have kids” said Barry causing Caitlin and Kara to smile, Barry continued “how many kids do you want?” looking at both Caitlin and Kara. Again Caitlin was the first to answer “let’s just start with one and see where we go from there” she said Barry chuckled as Kara said “I agree with Cait, let’s start with one and then see.” Barry turned to give them each a kiss and said “just one last question….when do we have the weddings?” Caitlin and Kara share a glance with each other almost as if communicating non-verbally before turning back to face Barry and answering in unison “as soon as possible.” Barry chucked and sped them to their bed whispering “I love you” to each of them with a kiss, before the exhaustion of saving the world overcame them and they all fell asleep cuddled together in their own bed for the first time since their engagements.
