When I arrived at 'Millpoints Mental Facility' I had to sit in the waiting room. A doctor eventually showed up to show me around and take me to my room. He said, "Hello Heather. I'm Dr. Jim. You'll be visiting me at least twice a day. If you want we can meet twice or even three times a day."
I just stayed quiet. I didn't want to talk. We turned down a hallway painted red. On the wall in white letter it said 'Welcome to Red Oak Ward'. Dr. Jim said, "This is the Red Oak ward. This is the ward you will be staying in until we see improvement. After Red Oak is Yellow Leaf, then Blue Bush, and Green grass ward is for patients who are soon to be released. Therapy sessions are required three times a day. And you can not leave your room without an escort. The other wards have increasing freedom. So the better you become the more freedoms you'll have Heather. Now here is your room, settle in and an escort will be here in half an hour to take you to my office."
I again stayed silent and didn't say a word. I looked around my room and it felt like I was in jail. There was a large metal door keeping me from getting out and there was one window. The window had iron bars in from of the glass so no one could escape. The room was a tan color. Boring, all very boring. The bed had peach colored sheets on it. There was an oak desk and one small oak chair.
I just sat on the bed and thought. How stupid I must be to do it on my wrist. If I hadn't then no one would have ever found out and I would be close to going home. Who knows how long I'll be in here for.
Just as I was in my thoughts I heard someone scream across the hall. I couldn't hear what she or the nurses were saying, but I think she somehow snuck a blade in and sliced her wrist and the nurses were trying to help her. It sounded scary out there. I hate this place already, some people are just insane. I may have self harmed but I'm not crazy. Not even having silenced makes me crazy.
As much as I hate this place I think the only thing I'll miss is talking to Jordan. Though Jim said in yellow ward I get 30 mins of computer time and in blue ward I can have my tablet with me. I wonder if Jordan will wonder where I went.
