"Luke...?"

Luke spins around. Zander is standing right in front of him.

Luke: Hi!

Zander points the flashlight at Luke's feet. He sees Jake lying in a puddle of blood.

Zander: what happened here...?

He then points the flashlight at Luke. He's covered in blood and is holding a knife.

Zander: What...Luke...

Luke: ...

Zander: I trusted you...

Luke: I—

Zander: I TRUSTED YOU!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU!!! WHY?!?! HE WAS ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE I CARED ABOUT!!! HE SAVED MY LIFE!! IF IT WEREN'T FOR HIM, I WOULD BE DEAD. DEAD, I TELL YOU!!!

Zander starts screaming angrily at Luke with tears in his eyes.

Zander: YOU'VE RUINED EVERYTHING!!!

Luke: I—

Zander: JUST BECAUSE I HATE HIM DOESN'T MEAN I'M HEARTLESS TOWARDS HIM. AND THAT DEFINITELY DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO KILL HIM!!!

Both teens stay silent for a while. Then Zander says, in a low, quiet voice...

Zander: We're not friends anymore.

Luke: but—

Zander raised his voice again.

Zander: WHY WOULD I BE FRIENDS WITH A PSYCHOPATHIC SERIAL KILLER THAT MURDERED MY TRUE LOVE!!!

Luke stayed silent. So did Zander.

Zander called the ambulance and the police.

~in the hospital(Zander's POV)~

Jake was lying there silently.

Hailey, Sean, Milly, Drew, Liam, Lia, Zoey, Henry, Sadie, and I were quiet as well.

Nobody said a single word.

Nurse: Bad news everyone...

Hailey: is he okay? What—

The nurse cut her off.

Nurse: I am so sorry for your loss.

I was devastated. Jake was gone and there was nothing I could do about it...

There was no rewind button.

It was all over.

The Music Freaks was over.

Without Jake, it's over.

I burst into tears. Hailey and Drew are trying to comfort me, but they know deep down that I'll never be the same.

I just lost someone I loved. Two people. My childhood friend, Luke, who's now in jail for murder, and Jake, someone who had saved my life, not only once, but twice.
