Chapter ten

|Twilight|

[Angel]

:::

It was cold when I woke up this morning. Not freezing but cold enough to need a sweater under my jacket again.

I still couldn't believe what Jasper had told me...
Him and his family were vampires.

Vegetarian ones, but vampires none the less. However, it did make sense. They were physically perfect, cold to the touch, practically marble, and well they didn't really eat. There was more but that is besides the point. I closed my locker and saw that Bella was in fact right there with a defeated puppy look on her face.

"I'm not going to break Bella," I stated firmly as I continued down the hall towards the cafeteria.

I knew why she was doing this. She wanted me to go to La Push with her. Emily had already shot her down in favor of spending more time with Alice.

"Please Angel! I don't want to be the only one there who is introverted!" Bella begged.

"You say that as if I'm introverted too," I snorted.

"You're not but with you there I'd have someone to talk to," Bella followed me.

"There's Angela," I responded back still skeptical of the whole idea of being forced to spend time with Jessica and her two faced friends.

"It's not the same Angel! Please! It doesn't even need to be the whole time. All I ask is for an hour to two," Bella begged profusely.

Ugh I can't believe I'm about to do this...

"Fine, only an hour though," I stated finally wavering.

"Yes! You're the best Angel!" Bella grinned as we entered the cafeteria.

I made it to the Cullen table and plopped down in my seat next to Jasper. I was not about to emerge myself in the planning process for this very poorly timed beach trip. It's going to be freezing and I knew it.

"You look exhausted. What did you do this time?" Alice asked as Emily also focused her attention on me.

"I agreed to go to La Push for an hour to appease Bella," I muttered.

"La Push?" Jasper looked very displeased.

In fact the whole table looked upset minus Em.

"Yeah why?" I straightened up.

"I don't want you to go. I don't trust those wolves," Jasper growled.

Emily and I looked at each other in bewilderment but decided to not ask questions.

"I'll be fine hun and besides that I carry wasp spray in my damn truck. If one of them tries anything at all, they'll get a face full of that stuff. It shoots up to twenty five feet and will blind your attacker. Very effective if you ask me," I stated as a matter of fact.

"I still don't like it," Jasper scowled.

"I'll make a deal with you," I offered.

"A deal?" Jasper cocked a brow.

"Yes. If you let me go appease Bella, I'll come back to your place and spend the whole day with you," I smiled.

"Whole day? That means no interruptions right?" Jasper asked.

"Yep. I'll even give you my phone," I stated.

"Then I believe you got yourself a deal little lady," Jasper grinned.
