Cynthia's pov:
"I'm gonna miss you mom.." I said. "I will to baby." she said silently. She pulled away from the hug, and signaled me to go say goodbye to everyone else. I nodded slowly and make my way over to Apollo, our dog. "Bye bye bud." I said in a whisper. He turned his head in confusion, then licked my face. That caused me to giggle slightly.
"Cynth! Wait up." my sister, Lucia called out. I turned to her and have her the biggest hug. "I'm really gonna miss you." I said while starting to tear up. She didn't say anything, I just felt her nod. Then my mom came and joined the hug. I could feel her tears drip against me. I quickly ran out of our apartment.
"I promise I'll visit whenever I can, and I'll call you as soon as I get there." I said while waving goodbye and putting my bags into my car trunk.
I was on my way to Oklahoma State University. I had a pretty long drive. It was a 20 hour and 39 minute drive, taking the fastest route. I kept my word and FaceTimed Lucia as soon as I got there. I literally mean as soon as I parked my car in the parking lot. Lucia told me to stay on the phone but my mom made me get to my room first.
I went to the front desk, and got on the huge line.
"Avery Hampton."
"Thomas Garth."
"Lili Jackie."
And then it was my turn, "Cynthia Patterson.'' The lady told me what room I was in, gave me the key, and my schedule. I made my way to the map and found my way to the dorm rooms. '396,397,398,399. Finally I found it.' I thought. When I went inside I didn't see anyone so I just figured my roommate hadn't been there yet, until I heard the shower running.
