The ride home was silent. Just her mother protectively having an arm on her shoulder. As of her father, who tapped on the mat agressively as he seemed to be bothered and attentive to all the small detail; paranoid.
Who wouldn't?
Y/N looked at the window and recalled what just had have happened so earlier. It was like a lucid dream, surreal but unreal. It was a blur to her yet it frightened her to the bones; she could've died saving a muggle. A hero she would be but dead, how wonderful right?
"I know heroes are real, everything is real when you believe. I believe you're a hero Y/N, I'm certain they will too if they knew. "
Snapping her out of her thoughts once she felt a tap on her shoulder, The mansion slowly getting clearer by second, home.
"Ma'am, Sir, We have arrived safely." The chauffeur said opening the little slide dividing the vehicle.
Shivering as the wind glided upon her skin, the color of purple prominent on her lips. The car door was opened by their house elf, Zing. An umbrella clutched within his fingers and he hovered it above the door's entrance.
"Masters! I heard the news, you must be terribly hurt. Here I have prepared robes and towels, please do accept." He assisted them inside one by one towards the empty and cold marbled mansion.
Y/N quivered and rubbed her sides vigirously with the freshly laundered towels. Her mother's heels tapped against the floor, echoing further as she went beyond the hallway far from the living room. Looking down at the book she had hidden within her robe. How can the man disappear? He was a muggle, well obviously.
"Zing, please start the fire." Edward coughed and removed his drenched coat to place on the rack. Stepping closer to he daughter who had her head low while staring unto nowhere. He carefully wrapped his arms around his daughter ㅡ taking a deep breath and kissed the top of her head. Kneeling down to her height; finally in eye to eye, she was in fear, doubt, and confusuon was written all over her.
"Thank Merlin you're safe, I'm so sorry for not protecting you. I should've been there and I should've secured your safety first, it's my fault for letting us ride in such bad weather. I will promise to protect you ninety-nine times more, forgive me my dear. I'm sorry." Edward pleaded to his daughter, clutching her hands tightly.
"Dad, it wasn't your fault I sat beside the door. It was my choice, besides you weren't the one who busted and hit our car open in half." She smiled nonchalantly with a weak smile.
"But ninety-nine times only? Where's the remaining one percent?" She crossed her arms.
"I cannot promise absolute certainty but I can promise to do with all my might." He brushed the hair loosely plastered all across her face. "I raised a brave independent lady, you saved someone and fought off those wolves! Plus, you did that injured." He grinned.
'Should I be happy I almost died?' She thought to herself.
"I'm proud of you. I mean by ninety-nine percent because that one percent is when i'm gone, I won't be there for you all the time." He stated with a melancholic tone.
"What's with the book?" Edward asked with a raised eyebrow. "Is that a mugg-" A loud thud errupted the room as Eudora had slapped the back of Edward's head with her wand. "It's from Lucuis' son, Draco boy. Adorable isn't it?" She grinned at her daughter. "That boy probably likes my princess?!" He gasped. "No you idiot, it's just a friendly gift. Now Y/N go up and shower, We do not want you getting sick and all that. I'll treat your wounds later." Eudora pulled her beloved husband away from her daughter and told him to cleanse aswell.
________
"Switching realities?"
What an awfully weird name for a muggle book. Lips turning into a pout as she blew off the dust and debris on the book.
'Why would he give me a book? Why did he disappear? Am I hallucinating? Did I ate too many sweets? Oh Merlin' Her thoughts were surely surreal.
"He didn't even gave me a key to open this up!" She scowled. Trying to peak from the top, grabbing its covers and started to separate it. Useless it was locked shut. "Oh come on." She groaned in annoyance before walking to her dresser and took out a bobby pin. Attempting to pick the lock, once again a stupid idea. "How am I gonna open you?" She clutched the lock within her palm and huffed. The sophisticated lettering graved on the top of the book, carefully observing it's details.
"In the name of the yearning beholder, the universe shall open up it's secret before you?" Y/N stated with pure confusion. "I ain't no patient person to solve such riddle?!" She slammed her head on the book.
"Yearning beholder?" She popped her head up and looked at the locked within her hands. "Okay, this might work..." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, desperation within her tone to just know and open the book.
"I, Y/N Ysabel Ellis. The yearning beho-" Not even having the chance to finish her sentence as a burning sensation lingered on her palm. "Ah! What the toad!" She threw the book with pure shock. The palm of her hand that had the lock engraved on it. The lock was now undone, she used her towel to remove the scorching hot lock and opened the book.
"Scripting? Non sleep & sleeping ways? Methods?" She gasped at the table of contents. "This is sorcery! Unreal!" Ironic to say when she lives in the wizarding world.
"Who on Earth would believe such thing!" She was not catching up and thought this was all nonsense. "Miss Y/N your mother told me to inform you that they are having Hot chocolate downstairs." Zing's voice was heard through the other side of the door. She immediatly threw the book unto her bed and sighed. "Coming! Let me just brush my hair!" She stated and sat on her nightstand.
Looking at her reflection as light seemed to beam against her mirror, turning around curiously her book was opened to a gold paper page. Curious, she sat on the edge of her bed and looked at the book once more.
"Dreams are glimpes of the other dimensions of one's soul, Desire can make you greedy but ambitious. Desire a dream and get ready to live a bewitched world of luxury and comfort. Look into the eyes of an incomplete soul, there lies a chamer of desires wishing to be set free. Within us is the choice to make it happen"
"It doesn't control us, we create it."
"Beware: Switch with precaution, Do not let yourself drown in desires but in dreams! With a clear mind and soul it shall lead you to the right reality-"
"Dear Y/N! Your chocolate will be cold!" Eudora's voice echoed all across the mansion. Closing the book abruptly and rushed towards her dresser. Brushing her hair and tried to calm herself down; breathing profusely before hesitatingly opened the door knob as she exited the room.
"So tell me, everything that happened." Edward and Eudora spoke at the same time; looking at each other with a mischevious glare. 'Not suspicious at all!' She thought and sat down, groaning as the couch had hit her shoulder. "I'll heal you up while you speak." Her mother said and took out a few bandages and her wand; handing her the glass of chocolate as the female finally spoke.
"So I flied-"
oh boy, the night turned out to be a story telling session.
