The Day After

Super sorry for not posting in a while and for all of the spelling errors, i made this chapter extra long
------------------------------------------------------- Emily's POV

I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off on the other side of the bed. As soon as i am about to get up to turn it off someone beat me to it. I snap out of my sleepy state and look beside me, there was on one there. I suddenly hear a familiar voice speaking to me from the doorway, "hungry?" JJ asked already fully ready for the day even though we didn't have work. "Very" i manage to get out through my groggy morning voice. "Well good, because i made breakfast" JJ said with a smile as she walked into the kitchen. I get out of bed and toss on a sweatshirt from my closet, i didn't feel like getting dressed quite yet, As i walk into the kitchen the overwhelming smell of delicious food hits me and i quickly grab a plate and start to fill it. JJ was alreasy sitting at the table with her breakfast, "I made you a coffee as well, its in that mug over there" the blonde said pointing to mug that read 'summer of 06'. I smiled to myslef knowing that she picked this mug on purpose. The summer of 2006 was the year JJ and i met, that was the best year of my life. "I figure if i can't have any coffee for a couple months that i should at least be nice and make you some" She said gigging, "well how sweet of you"i said with a big smile on my face. We sat there in silence fora few minutes almost as if one of us was building up the courage to say something, and i was right. JJ finished her breakfast and brought her plate to the sink, she walked back to the table and looked me right in the eyes,"well i should go" she said softly, i blurted out the words "no stay" without even thinking. She looked at me confused, i had to think fast, "i just mean why go back home when you could spend the day hanging with me, i could help you take your mind off of things for a while". I think i saved it but i don't know. I tought i would die from the silence until she said "that sounds fun but i still have to go home to freshen up a bit and change". I was ecstatic but i contained myself for the time being,"ok, do you want me to go with you?" i asked knowing that it might be hard for her to go back alone. "Yes please" she said with a smile. I nodded and smiled back but in my head i knew that she was hurting, she was strong and liked to smile at even the worst things but even the smallest things can be hard to face alone and this, her life right now, was no small thing.

JJ's POV

As Emily was smiling at me after our conversation about going back to my place i knew something was up with her, not physically but i knew hse was thinking about  something other than going back to my house. Emily finished her breakfast a few minutes after, she put her dishes in the sink and went into her bedroom to change. she came out minutes later with loose grey sweatpants and a old T-shirt on. I though i might just pass out, she loo so good in casual clothes as i mentioned before but she always looked ten times better in these sweats. I caught myslef staring at her, i looked away quickly pretending to be checking the time, damn it was only 10:30, it was going to be a long day. About 10 minutes later Emily was fully ready so we stepped out of her appartment and into her car. We drove in silence for most of the trip. I was in the passenger seat while emily was drivng, i was looking out the window with a million thoughts running through my head. Emil soon noticed my quick breathing and far away state of mind and put her hand over my thigh and have t a little squeeze, reasuring me that everything would be ok. I loved when she did that, i loved any moment when we got an excuse to touch. We pulled into my drive way moments later and all the memories came flooding back. Emily inbuckled her seat belt, stoppped the car and got out. I tried to do the same but i couldn't, i was frozen in the seat not able to move, i didn't think that this would happen, i thouhgt that i would just get in and get out but now that i am here there is o way that is going to happen. Emily walked over to my door and opened it, i was still glued to the seat of the car. I felt Emily's hand touch my face which pulled me out of my transe a little bit. I reaized that she was tucking a loose piece of hair behind my ear, then her hand caressed cheek. I snapped out of it, i looked at her and she looked back at me with sad eyes, i knew something was about to happen and it wasn't going to be good. I stepped out of the car and the first thing i notice is that Will's car isn't here. I slowly walk to the door unlocking it and stepping inside. Emily grabs my hand as we enter. I look up at those big brown eyes and she places a gentle kiss on my temple, this calmed me down enough to let me walk inot my bedroom. I walk straight to me closet trying not to look at anything that will remind me of the previous day. I start to gather my clothes when i see Emily walk out of the room, i really didn't want to be alone right now, especially in this house but i didn't stop her.
