Chapter 3
I ran inside, my heart racing. I've finally found it! I've finally found The Dragons of Oscaria! I still had a million questions buzzing around in my head. Who left the mysterious note on the back of my parents picture? Why did that Tyson guy know my name? But most of all, who murdered my parents? Maybe I'd find out. Maybe all my questions answers were behind the cover of this book. I sped up the staircase so fast I tripped. Typical clumsy me. I regained my composure and unconsciously checked to see if anybody saw, which of course was no one. I was all alone in this monster of a house. Barbara must of left, thankfully. She was probably furious with me. I mean, running off on her like that must of really ticked her off. I jumped on my bed, my legs burning from climbing the stairs so fast. I tore the cover open, and... Nothing.... I flipped through the pages, and also... Nothing. NOTHING.There was nothing inside The Dragons of Oscaria. NOTHING?!? Nothing but blank pages. I threw the book the floor and cursed. How? Why? What was this? I was so confused, so angry. My hands were itching like crazy, and if on instinct, I raised my palm and pointed it at the book. A red fiery ball burst forth from my palm. I screamed and jumped back, falling on my butt. I choked on the smoke which was curling like crazy from the book. Suddenly, it all cleared. I looked down on the book that should've been burned, but now perfectly fine. More than perfectly fine, it seemed to glow. The cover opened and the pages seemed to turn on their own. But this time, the pages weren't blank... They were full of words. Beautiful words! I screamed for joy, completely forgetting the incident where I shot a fireball out of my hand. I scrambled up to the book, and read.
Yup. This was a short chapter because, well, I felt like ending there. CLIFFHANGER! Yeah.
