His feet carefully, but frantically ran up the rotting wooden stairs to his apartment. His hand touched the doorknob and opened a door that read three-hundred-thirty-nine. He opened the door and closed it shut, slumping against it and falling into another restless sleep.
Naruto woke up in a strange place. It looked like a sewer, however, a strange red light could be seen illuminating at the end of the long tunnel. The light seemed to have a pulse, blinking like it was in sink with a heartbeat. Naruto sat up and looked around. He saw that the sewer seemed to be overflown with water, but instead of him being in the water he was on it.
'Strange...' Naruto thought. '...it's like I'm walking on water.'
Naruto began to approach the end of the tunnel. While walking, he remembered the events that took place before he woke up in this strange sewer. The evil smiles, the harmful, hate-filled words, the blood, the wounds...the loneliness. Oh, how he felt so alone. Where was his mama, his papa... weren't they supposed to be there with him? Instead, Naruto got daily beatings; he got called names; demon, demon spawn, useless... but wasn't the worst. Being alone was the worst .All that he asked for was a family, a mama, a papa, even just a friend... instead he got tormented.
As Naruto neared the end of the tunnel, he saw a cage. He got closer until he was about ten feet from it. Naruto looked up and saw that the cage went up so far that he couldn't see the ceiling.
His attention was turned back to the bars of the cage when he heard shuffling. His cerulean eyes widened as he saw what appeared to be a fox. A very large fox at that.
The rustic-red fox stretched his legs as he stood and gave a great, big yawn, squeezing his eyes shut as he did so.
'Oh my Kami, I haven't slept that long in fo- WHAT THE FUCK- is that a child?'
Naruto timidly responds with a 'hello'.
'Uhh... hi there kid... is there something you need?'
'No, I just woke up here,' Naruto said.
'What's your name, kid?'
'Naruto Uzumaki.'
