Apologies

Lila had taken one step onto the street outside the Leaky Cauldron before she felt the overwhelming urge to scream. Why did those two men get to her so bloody much? She couldn't tell if the heat that rippled over her skin was the whiskey or her anger, but she felt like she was about to explode. Fred and George just got under her skin in a way no one else ever could. As she walked along the street, she found her mind drifting to thoughts of their chocolate brown eyes, crinkled with a smirk that curved their lips just perfectly. She let out a groan, feeling her mixed arousal and anger bubbling up inside her. Lila hated the fact that she was so jealous. Normally she prided herself on being fairly progressive. Hell, she'd had her fair share of casual hookups. But she couldn't shake the unmistakable cloud of jealousy and possessiveness that had overtaken her since her encounter with the twins that night.

But then again, Lila wondered, was it so bad to want to be special to them? She continued her walk down the darkened street, about to turn the corner onto her own when she heard heavy footsteps behind her. She whipped around to find George Weasley running towards her, a look of determination on his face. Her stomach felt like a ball of knots.

"Lila," He said, slightly out of breath as he reached her, standing in front of her under the corner lamppost, "Blimey, you walk unnaturally fast, you know that? Legs this long, it shouldn't've been that hard to catch up with you."

Lila swallowed, trying not to pay attention to the way his face looked in the golden lamplight. Her eyes caught on his cheekbones and lips, the way his copper hair glinted in the light, "What do you want, George?" She had meant to sound intimidating, but her voice was nearly breathless.

George's face softened as he looked at her, and for a moment it looked as though he was about to reach out and touch her, but his hand fell to his side, "I wanted to apologize," Lila felt a lump forming in her throat at his words, "We both did."

"Well Fred's not bloody here, is he?" Lila scoffed, unable to mask the tinge of hurt to her voice.

"Fred's paying our tab." George said, his words lingering in the air made a tingle run up Lila's back.

"Yours and Giselle Laurier's, you mean."

George sighed and raked his hand through his hair, "Lila, she just happened to be at the bar tonight. She follows Fred around like a puppy every time she sees us, we can't very well make the girl stop."

Lila set her lips into a hard line, an unmistakable feeling of sadness bubbling up in her, "No, I suppose you can't." Her voice nearly cracked, and she cursed it for betraying her emotions.

"Lila," George said softly, "We didn't mean to upset you."

"Well you have, haven't you! I'm not just another random girl for the two of you to pull home from the pub and move right on from! We've known each other for years, George. I've been to your house for Christmas, for christsakes." Lila felt tears welling in her eyes as she spoke, her voice raising with her emotion.

George tucked his hand under her chin, lifting it so she met his gaze and studying her features, hating how they'd upset her. His heart clenched at the sight of her eyes watering, and he wiped away a tear with his thumb, "Lila, we weren't trying to treat you like that."

"He's right," Lila turned her head to find Fred standing beside them, hands shoved into his pockets as he looked at her with a sad expression, "You got so upset the other day...we didn't get to explain."

George slipped his arms around her waist and she looked up at him, then back to Fred, "Explain what?"

"We weren't just looking for a quick fuck with you, Lila." Fred spoke, his voice uncharacteristically soft as he took a step closer to her, "I mean, it was a right good shag, but that's not all we're after."

Lila felt like her body was wound tight as a rubber band about to snap, and George tucked her hair behind her ear, looking down at her, "You looked so beautiful that night, and we hadn't seen you in so long. We forgot how brilliant it was to be around you."

Fred moved behind her, slipping her hair to one side of her neck and leaning down to press a kiss to the exposed skin below her ear, "You're so good for us, Lila." He murmured, and she felt like her knees were about to give. She looked around the street anxiously, hoping no one was watching the exchange as she found herself in the middle of the two of them.

"We're sorry, Lila," They said softly in unison, and she felt Fred's lips press to her neck again.

"I know that we're a couple of floozies, but we weren't trying to  treat you like one." George continued, looking down at her with his warm brown eyes, and Lila felt herself melting into their grasp.

Fred brought his lips close to her ear and spoke, barely a whisper, turning her legs to absolute jelly, "Give us another chance, love."

Lila bit her lip, her eyelids closing for just the smallest bit too long when she blinked, "You didn't say please." She teased weakly.

"Please Lila," Fred started in her ear.

"Give us another chance." George finished, rubbing his thumb gently on her lower lip.

Between the feeling of being all but pressed between their bodies, feeling the heat coming off them as they touched her, and the whiskey from earlier that evening, Lila felt like her head was spinning. She looked over her shoulder at Fred, then back to George, taking a shaky breath and hoping her voice didn't betray her, "Alright." She said.

The boys lips spread into mischievous smiles as they looked at her, "Excellent." They said in unison.
