Contrarium marched on through the land, his back in agony and he refused to see the others in shame of his lack of wings. His eyes trailed up to the moon high above him, admiring it like the cliche demon he is. He had surprisingly managed to travel a long way since sneaking out from the tree he hid in from the fairies' domain.
Soon enough, he came across a stone path. The stones in it had small ripples of crack in it, moss trying to overtake the curved square slabs. His curiosity took over, and he followed the path. After an hour of walking, the landscape around him was lush green, the different shades of his colour made him feel at home. A large metal gate came into view, and his back immediately straightened; ignoring the immense pain he was in. He knew little of the territory he had walked into, but seeing two naked chest beings stand at the gate; he grew increasingly confused.
They were both male, with broad chests but where their legs should be; a long, thick tail connected to their bodies. One of them had a faded cyan coloured tail, shoulder length blond hair and piercing orange eyes. The other had a deep emerald colour tail, he was darker in skin colour and curly dark brown hair on the top of his head; sharing the same orange eyes a the man next to him. If he could even call them men.
The green demon had no problem looking them in the eyes, so he didn't miss when they gave him a look of confusion and disbelief each. They then stared at each other and nodded, opening the gate after turning their backs to Anti. He was overrun with even more confusion than before but followed the brunette inside the gates while the blond one shut the gates behind them.
"What's going on here?" Anti asked, his voice full of uncertainty, especially since he was now without his wings so he couldn't just fly out of their and avoid any backfire.
The creature turned his head towards him, his eyes full of amusement. "We are the race of gorgons, you must've traveled more North than you thought, Demon. Usually, we're able to turn your kind to stone. You must be either very mentally damaged, or a royal. So, tell me, who hurt you?"
Anti cracked up a little, smiling almost cruelly. "Try both, Lad. But I'm not here to spill my life story to ya, I'm just here to hide."
"Fair enough, but, welcome. We only have one royal here, and he's our King. Although he is not of our kind, he also came here to hide and we granted that for him. You'll find a few species here who have come to hide. Our place is almost that of a sanctuary, but we can still turn them to stone if we wish. Although, we would receive punishment from the King if we did it without permission."
The demon nodded in understanding, able to keep up with what he was saying. "So, do you guys always have snake tails?" He asked with a joking tone, not wanting to come off as rude even though he now knew they couldn't do much harm to him.
The gorgon chuckled deeply, shaking his head. "No, we have human forms too. We just look more threatening this way. How else would we reproduce?"
Anti smirked, liking the crude humour. "How would I know? You might have the ability to change the end of your tail into a dick."
Both creatures erupted in laughter, large smiles on their faces until they came to a large set of double doors. The laughter had settled, leaving amusing thoughts in their heads as the doors opened slowly.
A deep green carpet lined vertically from the door to the throne, deep Persian blue banners hung next to the throne on each side. Anti and the gorgon, of who's name he still didn't know, approached the throne and saw a slim figure sitting very casually on their.
The King had dirty blond hair that seemed untouched, gleaming bright blue eyes and some muscle on him at least. His facial hair bridged his lips and stretched across his sharp jawline. His torso was leaning on one of the arms of the throne and his legs dangled over the other. Slowly, his eyes shifted to Anti's and a toothy grin spread across his lips. His fangs and claws visible on his body, no matter how casual he looked with a grey t-shirt, black loose jeans and converse.
