Epilogue

The next few weeks passed by quickly and soon Nate was going to be released from the hospital.

The end of year exams came and went and the stress made everyone snappish but as soon as it was over, the air became lighter. Enzo and I were still going strong and Elena had been easily accepted into my small group of friends. Enzo was going to leave for college soon but I was not very down in the dumps because of it. Especially since it was my dream college too and I would be applying for it next year. Till then we would make long distance work.

All was as well as could be. Other than the tension between Luca and Elena, everything was just peachy. Those two avoided each other like the plague. Well, Elena avoided him while Luca tried to do everything to talk to her.

Luca and the twins were graduating soon and everyone couldn't be happier. Luca was going to go to Harvard and get a business degree while Alexander was going to Stanford along with Lorenzo. Roman had chosen Yale and was going to study law. Everyone was leaving but it wasn't gloomy. Especially since two of them were within driving distance of the house. We were going to go to some place as a vacation and nobody would tell me where we were going.

Elena was going back to Italy for a few weeks and would return six weeks before she had to go to College. She too had chosen Harvard and was going to get a degree in Computer Engineering. It was a surprise when I found out that Luca and Elena were headed to the same place but I didn't comment on it. It wasn't my place to.

It was a surprise when we came home on the day Elena was going to leave and saw Luca smiling and talking to another girl I had seen around town. I could see that his smile was fake but Elena walked past them quietly and headed up the stairs past them without even throwing them a second glance. I saw a flash of hurt cross Luca's face but it disappeared soon and suffice to say the girl left after a couple of minutes and I never saw her again.

Nate, who had come to my house immediately after being discharged had gone home to his parents and I was scrolling through Instagram when there was a knock on my door and Luca entered, his face downcast and I prepared myself for whatever he would have to say.

"Hey. I need some help..."

Short Epilogue which will also be the start of the spin-off - Hurting My Heart(Working title).
