"Oh wow you actually sat down," Hisoka muttered sleepily, turning over to look at him. "The rain is very soothing," he said happily. "Did you know that you are very pretty," he whispered, half-awake.
"You're eyes aren't even open," muttered Illumi, shuddering silently as another loud bang of thunder shook the house.
Even after Hisoka's breathing started to even-out, Illumi didn't leave the room. He didn't understand why, but he felt safer with Hisoka there, he would never tell him that though. Illumi sat there silently, now nothing to distract him from the giant storm outside. "Damn I hate thunderstorms," he whispered, turning to look at Hisoka who seemed completely unfazed by the fact that the house kept shaking like there was an earthquake.
"I'm guessing you don't like thunderstorms Illu," Hisoka said, sitting up drowsily. His hair poofed up on one side while the other side remained completely flat. Illumi smiled slightly at that, though it was too dark for Hisoka to see.
"No, not really," Illumi whispered, his hair falling over his face as he looked down.
Suddenly, with one more loud bang, the entire house went dark.
"Damn," Hisoka whispered, "Light's went out."
"I didn't notice," Illumi said blankly. Illumi listened as Hisoka fumbled for something to make light.
"I found a candle!" Hisoka said triumphantly, lighting it with the matchbox in the drawer. He lighted the candle, looking proudly up to Illumi, who sat there almost expressionless, minus the one tear that stood fell slowly down his cheek. Are you crying?!"
"Yes," Illumi said flatly, not showing any inflection at all at how tears were now streaming down his face.
"Why are you crying?" Hisoka asked softly, lifting his hand up to cradle Illumi's face gently.
"I don't like thunderstorms, I've told you this already," He said, looking at him directly as tears fell from his eyes. "I also don't like crying." He shrugged, motioning to the bed. "Anyway, go back to bed, I can tell you're tired," he muttered, using his wrist to wipe his eye.
"You know that it's okay to cry, right?" Hisoka creased his brows in worry, grabbing his hand and putting it at the black-haired man's side.
"No." Illumi said plainly, "Crying makes me feel weak, I don't like it." He was still crying, tears streaming violently from his eyes, but he didn't seem to even notice.
"It's okay to be weak sometimes, Illu," Hisoka whispered, taking the crying ones hand's into his own.
"Maybe for some people." He shrugged. "Not for me though." He looked away, trying not to make eye contact with the obviously worried for clown.
"No, for all people." Hisoka used his hand to make the other one look at him. "You're allowed to cry, so you can let it all out. You don't have to be apathetic, there's literal tears streaming from your eyes."
"You're different, Hisoka," Illumi said quietly, tilting his head to the side and watching the red-haired man through blurred eyes
"Huh?" Hisoka asked, his eyes reflecting his constant confusion and worry.
"It doesn't really matter," Illumi said, smiling slightly behind the curtain that was his hair.
He laid down in his lap, staring up at nothing with a blank look on his face. "I don't like this, crying in front of you. I don't know when the last time I cried was, more or less in front of someone"
"I don't mind," said Hisoka, running his fingers through the other's long hair.
"Please don't ignore me after this, you don't annoy me that much, I don't mind your company." Illumi said sleepily, shivering slightly. Hisoka looked over to notice the window was still open.
Why didn't he close the window, Hisoka thought, Was it because I said I liked them? "You're exhausted, I can tell," Hisoka said sympathetically, hearing the rain beat therapeutically against the window. It had finally stopped thunder-storming, the rain filling the comfortable silence. "Is there really nothing I can do?
"Yeah," Illumi whispered,"Goodnight, Hisoka," He said quietly. "...And no, not really. Just.. stay with me," he whispered, before finally drifting off to sleep.
Hisoka smiled slightly, watching as the pale mans black hair surrounded his head like a poisoned halo. "Goodnight, Illu," he whispered back. He only moved to get a blanket, covering Illumi's body, but other than that not moving an inch, knowing damn well he would never fall asleep in this position.
