A/n- I wanted to make this clear in case everyone didn't understand, the boys are not actually brothers in this story. They just feel that close to each other and have known one another since birth so their souls are somehow connected and that's why they're the five emotions.

Third-person pov:

Arriving upon the festival gave everyone a small ping of happiness. But Joy, of course, represented the most. Squealing around in his seat as he wretch over and gripped a hand onto Anger's knee, shaking it back and forth with excitement. "We're here Anger!" Joy cast, a smile shining so bright from ear to ear. "Yeah, I see. Can't wait." Anger lent a smile back, having promised to behave for at least today.

Joy parked the car, barely being able to sit still and wait for everyone else. Sadness and Fear woke from the car being stationed, Disgust sat motionlessly, not much emotion other than, well other than disgust for Anger. After the shock and pain wore off, he became revolted, upset with Anger. But he stuck to his promise and kept his mouth shut. "Okay, let's go!" Joy shouted, seeing everyone ready. Joy and Anger got out first, having Sadness, Fear, and Disgust follow behind and to the ticket booth.

"Five tickets please!" Joy pushed his hand forward, exchanging his twenty dollars for five tickets. He handed a ticket off to each of his brothers then proceeded to pull them through the entrance.

Their five sets of eyes gazed, over every ride, attraction, food booth, or game. They even got the chance to watch the hayride drive by. "Okay, what does everyone want to do first?!" Joy jumped, grabbing ahold of Fear's hand, almost scaring him out of his socks. Sadness softly raised his hand. "Yes Sadness?" "Is it okay if we go to the caramel apple station first? I haven't had one since I was a little boy..." Sadness moved up front, eyes kept at the ground. "Of course we can, that sounds like a great idea." Joy answered back, smiling as he pulled his brother in a hug.

They hurried off to the stand in the far back right corner, zipping and squeezing past people to receive their delicate caramelized treats on sticks. Sadness held dearly onto Joy's wrist, scared to accidentally let go and be separated from his brothers in the huge crowd.

The minute they made it past and to the booth, Joy hushed the others, asking Sadness what exactly it was he wanted. "Just a plain caramel apple, please..." Sadness murmured out, still holding tightly onto Joy's wrist. "Of course. Now everyone else?"

"I don't want anything. I don't like sweets." Anger muttered. "A caramel apple." Disgust answered. That left Fear. "Fear bud, what would you like?" Joy stepped towards him, making sure to still hold onto Sadness as he wretch forward, taking ahold of Fear's hand. "I- oh um nothing. Thank you." Fear snapped, retracting his hand away from Joy, earning a confused expression from all of his brothers.

Joy walked back to the front of the booth, ordering three caramel apples and paying the total of $7.39 before handing the apples out to Sadness and Disgust. "Thank you." Sadness so quietly mannered, issuing the softest smile before taking a bite of his sweet treat. "Thanks," Disgust copied, taking a bite as the group walked off to their next activity.

The next activity being the ring toss and balloon darts, they walked their way over. Since the booths were by each other, the boys split up. Anger and Disgust went to the balloons and Joy, Sadness, and Fear went to the ring toss.

Anger took a dart in hand, aiming and throwing directly between four balloons, setting them all off on a popping spree as he turned and high-fived Disgust. After throwing his last two darts, and setting over 8 more balloons, it was Disgusts' turn, and he stepped forward, taking a dart to throw but missing by a long shot.

He huffed out, not thinking much about it, and grabbed a second dart, launching it forward as the guy behind the booth watched intently, seeing Disgust freak and completely throw the last dart almost through the booth. "Fuck!" He stormed off, and back to the car. Joy was about to run after him in an attempt to cheer him up with a hug but stopped as he saw Anger taking care of it.

Joy just lead Sadness and Fear to the Ferris wheel, jumping with contentment as his brothers and he loaded into one of the seats, ready to go around. Well, all except Fear of course. He was clung to Joy's side, hiding his face in Joy's ribs as the ride started, and wheeled them around and up into the air for a couple of rounds.

Fear was just hoping the ride wouldn't break down and kill everyone, or stop mid rotate and they'd be stuck forever. But thankfully it had ended, and they were back to the ground.

The minute the ride had stopped, Fear took off sprinting to the nearest trash can, throwing up everything from breakfast this morning to last night's dinner. Sadness kept to the side out of the way, and Joy darted to Fear, rubbing his back in soothing circles before handing him a rag for his mouth and dragging both boys to a water station, buying three cups of cold water to down.

Anger had reached Disgust, throwing his hands up in question. "What the hell was that all about dude?" Stood in front of Disgust now, Anger was upset at him, wondering why a small carnival game had infuriated him so much. "I couldn't fucking hit a dart and you're over here with your perfect shots, showing the fuck off Anger!" Disgust shoved back at his shoulders, running a hand through his hair as he turned away from Anger.

"I wasn't showing off, dumbass. I'm just good at it okay? There's no need to be so upset. And don't fucking push me!" He grabbed Disgust by the shoulder, turning him around before taking his jaw into his hand. "Alright, quit acting like such a prissy little bitch Disgust. You're better than this." Sighing, Anger tethered with his thoughts, arguing if he should do what he wanted to in this exact moment while he fought with a friend.

Risk it all and lose someone so close to him, or hideaway and hurt himself every day, as he has for the past 21 years.

Anger knew Disgust could be a little bitch, but he sure as hell wasn't. That's why he moved both hands to the side of Disgust's face and brought him close, hesitantly connecting the lips of the two in a heated, passionate kiss that surely went on for a good minute before Disgust shoved Anger back, eyes fraught with lust hidden under confusion.

"Anger...why did- what did you just do?!" Disgust's eyes welled with hot tears, stinging at his irises as he ran off to find Joy, Sadness, and Fear.

Anger stood suffering, hands at his side as a minor piece of his heart shattered and ran away with Disgust. He had just fucked everything up with him, their entire relationship now disintegrating before his eyes.
