TWENTY FIVE — ( BIRTHDAY GIRL ! )

THE SOUND OF MUSIC PLAYING WASN'T WHAT SYDNEY WAS USED TO WAKING UP TO WHILE LIVING WITH MADISON AND MADELYN. But for some reason, that Thursday morning was different. Sydney wasn't sure if it had been the music that had woken her up or other factors but she managed to wake up before both girls busted into her room.

The song was playing from Madison's phone as Madelyn carried in a tray that had way too many pancakes piled into it. Both girls were singing along to the Taylor Swift song as they approached Sydney's bed.

"Yeah, we're happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time. It's miserable and magical, oh yeah. Tonight's the night when we forget about the deadlines. It's time, oh-oh."

Sydney knew the song all too well and had been waiting years to finally turn the right age to sing it. And when the chorus hit, Sydney had no choice but to sing along as the girls climbed into her bed.

"I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22. Everything will be alright if you keep me next to you."

"Happy birthday!" Madison said as she turned the song off after the first chorus had played. Sydney was speechless, not being able to believe the girls had even remembered it was her birthday and had then made her breakfast and woke her up playing her favourite artist.

"You guys didn't have to do this for me." Sydney said as she sat up more, admiring how much effort they seemed to put into making breakfast for her. It looked amazing.

Madelyn rolled her eyes playfully. "Well we know we didn't have to. But we absolutely wanted to. You deserve it."

"And we got you a little something." Madison added, holding out a present she'd been holding behind her back. "Me and Madelyn take at least 95% of the credit for this but we can't lie, the boys helped out too so the present is from all of us."

"Really? You guys seriously didn't have to do that" Sydney felt herself tearing up as she thought about the cast buying her a present all together, because they cared that much.

Madelyn laughed. "Stop being so sappy and open the damn thing." She said, pushing the present further into the girls hands. Sydney then didn't hesitate to rip the wrapping paper apart to reveal a white box. It was a charm bracelet from Pandora that had the cutest little charms on. Sydney felt herself tearing up even more when she realised about how much thought had gone into the present, how much effort the cast made to get her a present and pick one out for her. She had to be the luckiest girl alive. "We all picked a charm each and then the twenty two one is one we obviously all picked together." Madelyn explained as Sydney looked over the charms more closely. It was the best present she'd ever received and she felt overwhelmed with love and appreciation.

What had started out to be a pretty awkward and awful summer, it had ended up being the best summer of her life and Sydney had never felt more lucky than she did then, to have met such incredible people.
