12:16am 𓂀 He didn't even see the men's faces, only the woman's, there was a window behind them and as the full moon shined in the night sky it casted a shadow over their faces so he couldn't see them but he saw the lady's face, he saw the blood run down her face and her lifeless eyes roll back as her body twitched. His breath hitched and he looked away from her body and up at the men.
He could tell they were all looking at him, he still couldn't see their faces but he knew by the way their body's were facing towards him. He panicked and got up off his knees, stumbled a little but he managed to get up.
"Fuck...." Derek heard someone mutter as he ran for the door, he couldn't believe what he'd just seen. He heard several foot steps coming up fast behind him and he felt his heart drop again. Fear ran through his body like a bullet, he'd never been so fucking terrified in his life.
He ran out the front down and basically jumped down the stairs, he landed wrong and groaned when he heard the cracking nose of his ankle it wasn't necessarily broken just sprained really bad but with the amount of adrenaline running through his body he could barely feel it. Niko wagged his tail happy to see him and unaware of the situation.
"Niko let's go! NOW!" He yelled as he ran down the alley, Niko continued to wag his tail as he watched Derek run past him, he tired to follow but was snatched up. Derek didn't even hear his yelps and whimpers, he was too focused on getting out of there, thinking Niko was right behind him.
He ran all the way to the end of the alley until he couldn't run anymore, he leaned against the wall and shut his eyes panting heavily. His heart was racing a million miles a second, he breathed in and out slowly to calm himself down before he passed out.
"I-I think we lost them boy..." Derek said in between breaths as he put his back against the wall and slowly slid down, his eyes were still closed but he reached out to pet Niko who he thought was right in front of him but all he felt was air.
He opened his eyes and looked around, he didn't see Niko anywhere, he started to panic and stood up quickly, wincing as he felt a sharp pain in his ankle but ignored it. "N-Niko- Niko!" He called out almost on the verge of tears, but his friend was no where in sight. He rubbed his tear filled eyes and tried to collect himself but it was hard, he was too worried about Niko to do anything to help himself.
"Awh what's wrong little guy?" He heard a deep calm voice say behind him, he almost jumped out of his skin, he whipped around and looked up at the very tall brown skin standing before him.
"I-I c-can't find m-my dog a-and these g-guys they s-shot a lady i-in the head a-and-" he cut himself off when he looked up at the mans face and saw the familiar tear drop tattoo under his eye.
