Chapter one Moving

Yuri's view

My name is Yuri. I am Ema's cousin. We were born the same day and look alike. I applied to several different universities and was accepted into the same university my cousin Ema was going to attend. Unfortunately, I was living in the country. As I had no luck obtaining accommodation, I ended up ringing my Uncle Hinata, who remarried about a year ago.

"Hi, Uncle Hinata"

"Hi Yuri "

"How are you going?"

"I am going fine."

"How are Aunty Miwa and Ema?"

"They are good. It took a little while for Ema to adapt to living with her brother's though. Apparently, none of them had any idea about girls and kept proposing to her, according to Hikaru."

"I see." Not so sure that my idea was a good one now.

"Yuri, how are you doing?"

"I got accepted into the same university as Ema. However, I keep missing out on accommodation. I was wondering if I could stay with you and my new Aunty for a bit until I find a place. "

"No," he said, "You can't stay with us..." my heart sank at that moment. "However, you can stay with our family with Ema. You don't have to pay anything. I am sure she would like to have another girl around so you could have the room next to hers. I'll set it up with Ukyo and Ema now...Do you still have her number?"

"Yes! I do!"

"Give Ema a call when you are coming, and she will make sure to help you."

So I did. Ema was glad that I was coming, and she told me that they were all sharing the one bathroom up the top floor as none of the other bathrooms worked.

"I wish the bathroom on our floor worked. I end up having baths at odd hours to avoid the rush." Ema complained.

"As uncle tells me, I can stay free of charge, so I will fix it." and so I did. I arranged the work to happen and got the plumber to do the job with my cousin's help.

Somehow my cousin had arranged it, so the plumber had come when none of the men were home so that it was our secret that the bathroom on our level was now functional. I also got him to install a small sink and cooktop in my room so I could wash and cook, as the company I arranged did both.

After hearing about my cousin's problems, I decided that I would set my room up, so I only needed to go back to my room to eat, sleep and study. I had bought the things anyway when I had been trying for single room accommodation.

When I arrived with my brumby ute full of stuff for my room, I found my cousin Ema and her stepbrother Ukyo at the address I was given. Luckily, they helped me in, and there was also room in the garage for my ute. It took the last spot. No one wondered why a brumby ute was there. They just assumed that one of the brothers bought it but never asked who. I found that I didn't need it unless I was going home. The public transport to Uni was faster and cheaper.

Ukyo helped me with my desk, bookcase, bar fridge, and microwave and asked why I needed them. I just said that I was awake at odd hours and didn't feel comfortable cooking in the kitchen and disturbing everyone. I guess my explanation worked, as he didn't ask anymore. He did not notice the little cooking area, assuming it was another desk.

As Ukyo was leaving, I took off my glasses. He did a double take.
"What is wrong, Ukyo?" I ask
"Nothing, I was just surprised at how similar you look to Ema. You could be twins without your glasses and if you wore your hair the same. "

"We were asked that a lot when we were little too. My hair was always a shade darker; Ema had the pretty hair. She wore her hair out a lot then. As for me, I like my hair braided."
