Brothers Conflict - Yuri

Chapter 4 Still helping.

Yuri's view

I see Ema in the hall outside my room "morning, Ema, " I greet her.

"Morning, Yuri," Ema greeted me. "How are you going with preparing for Uni?"

"Nearly done...I forgot one book, which I still need to get before we start Monday."

"Which one?"

"The Ancient History one"

"I have it already if, for some reason, you aren't able to get a copy."

"Thanks. I appreciate your kindness. I may have to yet. I don't know."

Knowing how afraid I am of people, Ema asked, "Will you be alright? You know, with your anxiety?"

"I will be good... I will be acting my biggest role yet... just don't be frightened when you see me." I say.

"Ah, ok, well, talk later then?"

"I'd like that!" I say before entering our room...

"WHAT?" I thought, "When the hell did MY room become OUR room? For goodness sake, I have only known the guy for three days, and we aren't even going out!"

Also, we have not really talked...all I know of him is his name is Tsubaki, he has 12 brothers, one called Ukyo, he works as a voice actor, and I find him cute. I really didn't know him at all, but somehow, I could talk with him.

I enter and start cooking an omelette for the pair of us. I also make a pot of coffee as I had not had a cup in days, and I knew from experience that if I didn't have one today, I would most likely kill someone (just figuratively)

Tsubaki view
I wake up to the delicious smell of coffee, fried onion, eggs, tomatoes, and mushroom cooking.

I watch in amazement at this girl who helped me a lot yesterday. Ever since I met her, my life has been totally topsy turvy, and here she is again, feeding me and looking after me.

I sit up against the wall with my legs crossed. I enjoyed just watching her like I used to, Ema.
Yuri became aware of me watching her and blushed. "Good morning Tsubaki. Did you sleep well?"

"I guess...I don't remember falling asleep, but I must have as I feel rested. I don't understand how I am still here?!"

"Would you like some breakfast and coffee?" Yuri asked

"Yes, please!" I suddenly noticed that the area she was cooking on had a small sink. "You have a sink?"

"Yes, I got it and my hot plate installed before I came. I was pretty lucky with the room as it backed onto the house plumbing, so I could...
Breakfast is ready; let's eat outside again; I don't like crumbs in my room."

"Ah, ok," Tsubaki said as he got up gracefully off my bed and came outside with me, bringing the cups of coffee.

We sat outside, eating and drinking.

"Yuri?" Tsubaki asked hesitantly, "Would you mind working with me again today? I still don't think that I have the part right, but I will need to go in tomorrow to record, or my boss will flip." Bringing out his phone and messages his boss.

"Sure, I'll help again. It's fun." I say. "But please go have a shower..." he stunk.

To which he laughs and does as he was told. I clean up again, hand washes my clothes, hang them out and then start reading the proscribed text...After all, it has to be read sometime, better now than when I had to do assignments.

Tsubaki view

I leave Yuri again to go back to my room.

I look at my room in disgust and shake my head. Already I prefer Yuri's clean and tidy room to mine. I pick up the books I have scattered all over the floor, dump them back onto the bookshelf where I had pulled them from, and then grab clean clothes and head off to the shower.

I didn't realise it then, but when Azusa came looking for me later, worried about me as I hadn't talked to him in a week, and me cleaning my room freaked him out. He thought that I'd become suicidal rather than tidy.

I showered, put my clothes in the wash, and looked to see if there were any clean ones... there were, so I took them back to Yuri's room. I don't know what I was thinking. The truth was, I probably wasn't thinking... I was just excited about working on my script with Yuri again. Although she had never done voice acting professionally, she was better than the majority that was acting. I wondered if she would be interested in the job.

I knocked on her door, and she let me in. It was only then I realised that I had bought my clean clothes with me.

Yuri's view.

I heard a knock at my door. It was Tsubaki returning. I noticed that he had a pair of clean clothes with him, as well as clean clothes on. I raised my eyebrow at him with the silent question, "What do you think you are doing with those?"

When he realised that he was carrying a pair of his clean clothes with him, he blushed in embarrassment.

"Sorry," he stuttered, "I was so excited to work with you again; I forgot I was carrying these."

I felt like teasing him, "Yeah, yeah, likely story!" I say. Taking pity on his evident embarrassment, I say, "Just put them there, for now, indicating a spot on the table near the door. Let's get to work!"

I helped him again all day... we went out to eat though that night as I had forgotten to prepare food to eat and he wanted to thank me. When we were out, I found that he was one of 3 born on the same day; his twin brother was also a voice actor called Azusa, and the non-identical one was called Natsume, who made games. His popstar brother's song came on then, and I cringed.

"Why are you cringing?" He asked.

"I don't know. For some reason, this singer makes me sick..." I say.

Tsubaki burst out laughing at that.

"What is so funny?" I ask innocently

"My brother's songs make me sick too," he admitted.

"Your brother?" I ask, still not understanding.

"Yes, my brother, that singer is my brother!" Tsubaki said, still laughing.

"Oh... I am sorry, I didn't know, I am sorry for my rudeness " I apologise, bowing.

Tsubaki grabs my hand. "Don't! I'm not too fond of his singing either... I just didn't think that there was a girl who didn't like his singing. "

I smile, relieved that I hadn't caused him offence. Tsubaki and I finished not long after, he paid, and we left to go back home to continue with the practice. We finally got him to the point in which we were both happy with the presentation, but both of us were too tired to move, so yet again, we fell asleep next to each other. Luckily, we had been working from the touch lamps, not the main light, so I turned it off and slept.

"Finally! My work is done!" I say and flop back onto her bed, on the same side I had been on the past three nights.

I made the mistake then of closing my eyes. I was asleep in seconds. I was barely aware of Yuri turning the light off and sleeping next to me.
