"burden"

it was so quiet no one dared to speak.
but donghyuck couldn't handle their awkwardness so he spoke up.

"juyeon i'm sorry"

juyeon's heart clenched she knew that this would happen.

"i-it's okay" she tried her best to sound like she wasn't crying.

"i'm sorry juyeon but, i can't return your feelings"

"it's okay, i-it's not your fault"

"i'm really sorry"

"hyuck please s-stop saying sorry"

"i knew you already like someone"

"actually i don't"

"to be honest i tried to like you but, i couldn't"

"oh"

"juyeon i should tell you something too"

donghyuck took a deep breath, debating whether to tell his best friend.

"juyeon i'm actually gay"

juyeon grew quiet.

donghyuck was regretting his decision not wanting his best friend to judge him.

"oh hyuck why didn't you tell me? i understand you. you know i won't judge you right? i'm not like that"

"thank you juyeon, and again i'm sorry"

"hyuck please stop saying sorry"

"okay"

"we're still friends right?"

"of course ugly! i'd be mad if you won't talk to me. please don't be awkward with me juyeon. you're the only one who understand me"

"i can't afford to loose you again"

that's when they both started sobbing.

"i love you hyuck"

juyeon was hurt but she understood her best friend.

"let's move on juyeon" she whispered slightly letting a tear escape her eye.

she looked at the clock and it was already 12 am she doesn't want to bother yongjae so she decided to go to sunghoon's instead.

juyeon knocked on the door.

then she heard someone cursing and mumbling incoherent words.

the door finally opened, revealing sunghoon standing there in his pajamas.

"ugh why did-"

before he could finish his sentence she flung her arms around his waist and started crying.

"juyeon why are you crying?" he whispered softly.

"i got r-rejected"

oh that's why. sunghoon thought. a part of him feels sorry but why does he feel a bit relieved.

i shouldn't think that way. i can't grow attached to her.

"juyeon, let's uh- sit down. daniel go get some water"

they sat down and daniel appeared with a glass of water.

"thanks, and sorry for being a burden" she looked down ashamed for her actions.

sunghoon lifts her chin up staring at her eyes.

"for me you were never a burden"
